I am DYING for Season 3 of Sherlock to come out, but (gasp) it's not due to come out until late 2013 or the beginning of 2014. It's because both Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are in the Hobbit. (Martin is Bilbo Baggins and Ben is Smaug the dragon and the Necromancer. No idea who that is btw)

An interview with Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss has revealed 3 clues as to season 3!! 3 words:

Your interpretations please! I know that Watson get's married, so i suspect that is the wedding part, and there is a story called "The Last Bow" but rat?? Hmmm.

Episode 3 of Season 3 could be the last of Sherlock! It said that under the word 'bow'. They think it may be his last bow! and Episode 1 is Rat and they said it's just him confessing to John. And then, ofcourse, Episode 2 is the wedding.

Perhaps the rat is a version of the Boscombe Valley Mystery.

Where did you find that? And Ben said there was going to be a 4th episode (though I think he got in quite a bit of trouble with Mofftiss)

I'm pretty sure that Moffat said the 1st episode was based on the Adventure of the Empty House.

So, we know that the first episode is called The Empty Hearse (play on words for The Empty House) and I'm sure it will feature Sebastian Moran, who is seen in the Reichenbach Fall as one of the snipers. If you go to the discussion I've made for The Empty House you'll see some more info :)

The latest reports on series 3. It’s believed that they are filming a number of ways that Sherlock faked his death so that no one can blab the truth.
The following link shows Watson being hypnotized by Derren Brown, the idea being that he dreamt the whole thing.

The main problem I have with this is that, firstly: Sherlock’s fall wasn't just for the benefit of Watson but also the sniper, so if John was hypnotized, what did the sniper see that called him off.
Secondly, Derren Brown is in essence playing himself and if the hypnotist explanation was the road they were going down I don’t think that they wouldn't use a famous hypnotist to play a hypnotist, it’s too obvious.

maybe sherlock comes back and john is hypnotised to think that he dreamt all of it but it actually happened. but then what about the others?
anyways, i've seen it too. they're doing many fake shootings. lol
