Olivia & Caleb. But what about Noah? :(

Yeah he seems to be the perfect man which means there is something wrong with him..something we don't know about now that might shatter his marriage to Olivia then the story will go back to Caleb..:(
I think Noah is going to take a piece of advice he gave Olivia and "Love someone more than you love yourself". He knows how Olivia feels about Caleb, I have a feeling he's going to step back and let Olivia follow her heart.

as much as i want olivia and caleb together, i also feel sorry for noah..:( he is just so perfect and even married olivia when he knew how she felt about caleb...caleb is the one who started all the messing up..

The first time I finished reading The Opportunist I was disappointed that Olivia ended up with Noah. However, due to my obsession with Caleb & Olivia I have read and Reread the book numerous times and each time I finish rereading it, I think Olivia and Noah should be together. In Dirty Red he is kind and in The Opportunist he is wise and he gave really good advice too. I think that is why Olivia ended up marrying him. She even said he made her a better person.In that teaser from Thief, Caleb is still a flirt... That scene where he lifts his sunglasses & smiles only realizing later it's Cammie... He also cheated on Olivia in TO & lied to everyone by not being honest about his feelings from the start but since when has a woman not fallen in love with the bad boy right? Every girl loves the bad boy. Like how Caleb loves bad girls too ;)
But I think Tarryn wants us to think about redemption, forgiveness and what true love is. You know - if you love them set them free, if they return it was meant to be...
I agree with you guys about the fact that Caleb was a cheater. He had a huge part in the mess. When I think about that, It becomes obvious that Olivia and Noah should stay together. I'm still having problems with that weak spot I have for Caleb though. ;P
Caleb didn't cheat on Olivia... he told Leah that in DR that he didn't cheat on her in the sense that he had sex with another woman.. we don't really know what happened in that office because it was told from Olivia's POV and let's face it, she was/is a little crazy. We'll find out what happened when Caleb gets his turn. My guess is the woman in that office was the real estate agent and he was signing papers for the house he bought Olivia. The real estate agent was trying to make a play for Caleb and Olivia just walked in at the wrong time and saw what she wanted to see.

I am a horrible person, but I am not invested in Noah at all, his feelings matter nothing to me :) I expect Caleb to try to do some dirty underhanded things to try to get Olivia back. After Dirty Red, I just need Olivia and Caleb to work out. For my own sanity.
Call me horrible too... They have to end up together! He is a thief, steal her from Noah & book four can be his HEA. Then everyone is happy lol
Okay, I hope that is what happened because I have been so mad at caleb for that office scene. How could he when they had their planned getaway knowing she was waiting for him at home? It just doesn't Mae sense. They were in a good place, why cheat? I hope for the hea in the thief. Ondo I hope for it, so I. Canstop giving myself ulcers.
TF may back peddle and say Caleb didn't cheat but I'm not really buying it. He stood Olivia up that night without even a phone call. She also said he had been doing that lately. The woman had her dress pulled up and his hands on her (I think) He didn't defend himself. Instead he pointed out that she wasn't putting out. Personally, I'm not a Caleb fan. He's every bit the manipulative liar that Olivia and Leah are. Noah makes her a better person and I'm fairly sure that if we read something from Noahs POV, we'd all be emotionally invested in him too.
Even though Caleb infuriates me, I would have liked to see them work it out. But not at the cost of yet another person.
Does anyone really think this series will end with a HEA - meaning C & O?I was thinking of a few ways that could happen - the first unfortunately involving Noah dying. With the Great Expectations references - I wonder if Noah will die maybe protecting/saving Olivia (possibly from the Dobson guy)? I know Noah and Estella's husband in Great Expectations aren't alike in that Noah is good - but I guess in the sense that both husbands die and the female heroine end ups with the love of their life after all those years.
I just don't see a way for C & O to end up together with her still married to Noah and nothing happening to him. I mean, what would the point be of the author having Olivia and Noah get married only to have Caleb break them apart?
I am just so conflicted in the outcome of this story. I feel like since in the epilogue of TO, it is clear Olivia has changed and become a better person - and now it appears maybe this book is the time for Caleb to do the same. It would also be redundant though if Caleb tried to break up their marriage, much like Olivia tried in TO in Rome - only to have him realize Olivia appears to be happy and results in them saying goodbye yet again bc they each think they are happy now in their separate lives. We already did that in TO.
So, I feel like the point of even having a third book has to be a Great Expectations related ending that allows Caleb and Olivia to be together at the expense of Noah being offed. BC without Noah - I don't think she would be a good person who doesn't deceive anymore - and maybe it took him for her to change so that she can finally be with Caleb rightly.
Unfortunately, I could also see an ending that allows Olivia and Noah their own HEA - and Caleb becoming a better person in his book - and he ends up finding someone good too. But, if that were the case, I feel like that could have been resolved in DR in when he left Leah at the end - it could have continued in a simple way to reflect Caleb finds a woman who is not f'ed up.
I also think people may assume Thief refers to him stealing Olivia from Noah - but - it could also mean he somehow 'steals'/ends up with custody of Estella from Leah even after finding out he isn't the father. And he goes on to raise her correctly so she doesn't turn out lying and manipulative like Leah and once upon a time Olivia.
Anyways, just curious if anyone truly sees them getting to be together in the end.
@Kristen. The GE connection might be linked - did not even consider that.With the way both TO and DR threw curve balls throughout the entire books I am not certain that Olivia will be completely saved of her old ways yet. The reaction to the birthday gift was a sign that something is still there.
We all seemed to have fallen for Noah pretty easily without much back story. He sort of gave me the creeps on the plane but redeemed himself later - but maybe there is some dirt that Caleb uncovers on the guy that will shatter the image of him for Olivia and the rest of us.
I know with most pulling for Olivia and Caleb that the biggest MF of them all would be no HEA for them, but part of me still sees this messed up couple that belongs together. Either because they deserve to be happy or they both deserve to suffer together for all that they did.
I just wished this book was out now so we could get the final pieces of the story.
No, Caleb and Olivia deserve a happy ending, they are meant to be. I just loved how he was not only her first love, but he gave her for the first time a meaning to live. They did a lot of mistakes, but they should end of together.
I think what semi worries me is I feel like the author is a little hellbent in telling a story that doesn't have the expected happy ending. I don't know - just from the little I've read about her talking about the series and how she prefers to tell stories that might not leave the reader with their HEA and the reality of broken love - I am just worried she will make them not end up together for the sake of being different and proving some kind of point that your actions have consequences and sometimes its too late to fix them. But, I really don't see a reason for a 3rd book without them being together. TO sort of had some closure with them and Olivia was left in a good healthy place; so why disrupt that? I also think they need to be together bc even if Caleb does move on and find someone new, he will still love Olivia the most (he told her in TO she will forever be first), so, it wouldn't be fair to eff up another woman's life and make her feel second best. Leah was never good - but - I do believe Caleb contributed to screwing her up more by just being with her when he knew she could never replace Olivia. I don't feel like their angst will ever let up unless they end up together.
I honestly believe that Tarryn Fisher is a SADIST. She enjoys torturing us by making us wait for Thief.
I don't think Caleb deserves Olivia. He jumped through hoops rather than just being patient with her and being honest. If he didn't cheat in the office like he told Leah, then he played a game to make her think he did (childish) and let's not forget he's lied just as much (if not more) as Olivia. Not to mention him dangling water in front of a thirsty Leah, rather than just being a man and letting her go. PERIOD. Noah is a grown man who will be what Olivia needs. Caleb is destructive. He had his chance. I saw that someone said Noah is going to fight for O- I hope so. At least he's going after what he wants and (hopefully) isn't going to be playing some mind game or biding his time but will be upfront (something Caleb isn't) Just saying...oh yeah, hi guys, I'm new. cool thread :D

After all the torment Olivia put herself through over feeling guilty and Caleb's game playing;I was happy that she found someone who would love her, but on the other hand I do feel sad that she didn't end up with Caleb. I'm DYING for Thief to come out, I can't even imagine all that will be revealed once we get into Caleb's mind.
I agree Julie! Even though I don't care for him, I'm super anxious to find out how he saw things!! and who knows, maybe i'll like him once I understand him. I feel like we'll finally have the whole story once we see his side... I'll admit, right after I finished TO I was bummed that she didn't end up with him (that was before I started disliking him). Her trying to move on was so mature and she's trying and it would just suck for Caleb to be the one who pulls her back; he's her kryptonite
I didn't like how he hired her to defend Leah. Olivia was trying to move on with her life and, AGAIN, inserts himself in her life. It's a clear case of misery loves company. Caleb is miserable, therefore, he wants Olivia to be as miserable as he his, except, Olivia isn't as miserable as Caleb. So I don't know if he's really in love with Olivia, or just doesn't want her to be happy if he isn't happy. I'm really torn about this. If he truly loved Olivia, he would let her move on with her life and try to find happiness for herself.
Like Cammie said, Caleb had his chance; his choice, he didn't take it, tough. Honestly I actually like Caleb a lot but I just can't let him off the hook with the way he treated Olivia. If Caleb and Olivia do end up together, he better be deserving of her if not, Olivia and Noah do make an awesome pair .
With this release looming - I know it is going to be a destructive read. Those that had the ARCs were killing me with updates and I can't honestly even begin to guess at how this will end. I really want Olivia and Caleb to get their HEA after everything. I liked Noah, but never got much of him so I have no ties to him. I am hoping that Caleb may get some dirt on him that will make him seem less perfect so that those Noah fans won't be too bummed if us Olivia/Caleb gals get our way.

We met him twice, once in TO and once in DR. Why are you guys so in love with him? You don't know his history, his story. He could be just as bad. I don't care about Noah and his story, I only care about Olivia and Caleb.
Okay, if you guys don't already know, Thief is available on Amazon!!! All your questions and concerns will be answered. This is by far the BEST book of the series. I have to say that Caleb totally redeemed himself to me in this book.
Woke up on Sunday with a post from Tarryn that was the best news ever - then immediately bought it and then spent the next 4 hours having mini-melt downs while reading it. It was fantastic and perfect in only the way Tarryn Fisher is capable of.
So much to consider, I've been reading some parts again just to really connect the dots and to think it through. My head feels like it will explode! A great book although I still think TO is better.Just gonna say
