1. Salem Falls (2001)
2. The Pact (2002)
3. Plain Truth (2004)
4. The Tenth Circle (2008)
5. My Sister's Keeper (2009)

What are your thoughs on the Jodi Picoult movies? Do you like them/ hate them? Which ones have you seen/ haven't seen? What would you change about the movies if you could? Which is better book or movie?

So far I have only seen The Pact and My Sister's Keeper. The Pact in my opinion was horrible and nothing like the amazingness of the novel. My Sister's Keeper although it wasn't as great as the novel got me started reading Jodi Picoult so for that I am thankful.

Tommy Cucchiara (tomcucchiara) I've only seen My Sister's Keeper, which was... interesting. I really liked the casting choices they made, especially Cameron, Alec, and Abigail- but I hated how they felt the need to change the story. The fact that the ending was so hugely altered really threw me, and I think I'll always hold a grudge against the film for that.

Alecia Silva (aleciasilva) | 5 comments I went to a Lone Wolf book signing and somebody in the audience asked "if you could choose another book to be turned into a film, which one would it be?"...and she said none of them! She was not happy with what Hollywood did to her book. And I don't blame her one bit!

Erica (ericareadslibros) I have seen Plain Truth, The Tenth Circle, and My Sister's Keeper. But I've only read My Sister's Keeper, which I thought the book was 10 times better.

Susie Biancarelli | 3 comments i think all books are better than movies

message 6: by Cansu (new)

Cansu (cnskrsln) I stopped watching film adaptations after PS. I Love You because all they do is change major facts and leave out important details.

Though I've watched parts of My Sister's Keeper, and I also love the casting, but e.g. the fact that her brother was just a minor character really annoyed me.

If you really love and enjoy a book, don't bother watching the movie because it will never ever be better, no matter how good it is.

Claire (proud-mum) | 20 comments I love the movie versions of MSK and PS I Love You although haven't read PS I Love You. I hated the ending change in MSK though :(

message 8: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Daniel | 9 comments PS I love you was written by Cecilia Ahern, not Jodi Picoult.

message 9: by Cansu (new)

Cansu (cnskrsln) I know, but I think that one is the best example to show how horrible film adaptations can be, and we all don't want that to happen, especially not to Jodi's great works :)

message 10: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Daniel | 9 comments Ah, I see what you mean! There are very few movies that adhere directly to the book, which is why many people choose either-or. Even the LOTR series left out much of all three books. It would have been impossible to include everything and still have people willing to sit through the movie, I think. Yet many of the parts they chose to leave out (Tom Bombadil for one) were some of my favorite parts and were an integral part of the overall story. But that's just my opinion!

Maria (MariaHegarty_) | 1 comments I love my sisters keepers movie version although strongly dislike how they changes the ending

message 12: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (mrsjpmartin) I loved the movie Plain Truth and I too was very upset with they way they changed My Sisters Keeper. :-(

Michelle T. (chely1217) | 10 comments Rachael, I have seen all the movies you named, except for the first one on your list.
In my opinion her books are awesome, they describe as much as they do in the books. However, I think it's a good read. My hubby tells me that the movies are LMN type of movies, but he was the first one crying when we saw "My Sister's Keeper"... 8-/

I have not seen most of them. I have been waiting for them to come on tv and have me read the books before I watch the movies.

Gemma (januarygirl) | 9 comments I've seen 'My Sister's Keeper' which was not true to the novel but still a good film. 'The Pact' was poor, as was 'Plain Truth' and 'The Tenth Circle'; I've not seen 'Salem Falls'.

I've only saw My Sister's Keeper. Are the others good?

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

I have only seen the movie version of My Sister's Keeper. I did not like it. I don't know why. I really think that the book was better
