Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) I nominate The Diversity Of Life by Edward O. Wilson byEdward O. Wilson

message 3: by Kay (new)

Kay | 5 comments I'd love to read Polio: An American Story. I can dimly remember the polio panic from childhood -- at one point my parents were sure my sister had contracted polio. This Pulitzer Prize winning scientific history garnered high praise.

message 4: by Val (new)

Val How about this book When the Air Hits Your Brain Tales of Neurosurgery by Frank T. Vertosick Jr. ? Looks pretty interesting.

message 5: by K.R. (new)

K.R. Gastreich (karin_gastreich) | 3 comments I second the nomination on E.O. Wilson's The Diversity of Life.

I would also like to nominate The Age of Wonder: How the Romantic Generation Discovered the Beauty and Terror of Science by Richard Holmes, though this book is more history of science, so I'm not sure if that's appropriate.

message 6: by DD (new)

DD T | 11 comments I'd like to nominate, again, "The Power of Habit".
