After the Apocalypse ☣ discussion

Amber walked down the side if the abandoned streets, her eyes and ears open for anything out of the ordinary from the usual decaying buildings, accompanied by wind howling every now and then. She stopped where she stood, her black combat booting making one last tap in the concrete. She could've sworn shed heard someone. She moved her hand to her small gun, readying herself to shoot something.

Fang was sitting on the ledge of a building that was falling apart when she thought she saw movement, Fang rose a brow and watched the person that was down below. She only saw the back of the persons head so she couldn't tell if it was friend or foe, then she saw the glint of a gun. Fang tightened her grip on the baseball bat that was next to her, until she saw half of the girls face. AMBER! Fang almost yelled with excitement, she managed to contain herself though so that she didn't awaken every undead in New York. Fang quickly made her way down from her perch and walked toward Amber. "Amberrrrrrrrrrr," She let out quietly as she approached her. A smile was on her face, and she was more than excited to see her friend from school.

Amber knew she heard footsteps. She pulled out the gun, ready now. She had it aimed, but lowered toward a doorway, so she won't scare anyone that might be coming in peace. She almost dropped her weapon, though, out of simple shock. Fang. She looked her up and down once, she looked perfectly healthy. A broad grin spread on her face as she put the gun back in its spot shed made on her belt "Fang!" She squeaked quietly, rushing to her and hugging her tightly.

Fang hugged Amber back, she even picked her up and twirled her around a few times. "OH my gosh Amber, I can't believe I found you, or you found me. Either way I'm just glad we have each other, I've been so lonely, and there's been no one to talk to except these annoying zombies that just continuously get in the way and I have to kill over and over again, and I miss Jaden, which I'm sure you do too, and I don't know where to stay so I just walk around aimlessly," She said it in one long breath, not stopping till the end, typical Fang.

Amber hugged fang tightly for a few moments before pulling back and looking at her. She nodded in understanding "I know, Fay. I've been just going from group to group, never staying anywhere for very long. Jaden?" She paused, almost feeling like she wanted to cry. God she missed that boy, knowing that shed probably never see him again made her want to jump off one of the big buildings. "I do miss him, more than any healthy amount." She said quietly

Fang felt tears prick her eyes as she watched Amber get emotional about Jaden. "It'll be okay, you know Jaden, he always finds a way..." Though she truly doubted her best friend was alive, he was too weak, and nice to survive. His better half was standing next to her and she didn't truly know what to say. "Well do you have a place to stay?" She asked Amber with curious eyes. She usually just crashed somewhere high before night time fell, no real place to stay.

Amber shook her head lightly, trying to stop thinking about jaden. She wished she could be with him, defend him from anything that tried to hurt her sweet boy. She swallowed down her tears and shook her head "not really, I just crash wherever these days.... Maybe we should find a ace as a team? I don't care if you want to be or not, you're my partner from now on" she smiled easily at fang

Fang smiled back, "Of course Amber. You're like a sister to me, c'mon we'll find a place to make ours. It has to be somewhere sturdy, and a place we can zombie proof easily, and fast," Fang said and adjusted her messenger bag that was slung over her chest. "Which way though?" She asked as she glanced around Times Square, it had changed so much that it was ridiculous.

Amber nodded and looked in both directions. She pointed the way she come from "I was just down there, and I didn't see anything that was very promising... So I guess we look that way" she motioned toward the street ahead of her. "You know Fay, it's pretty sad. I wanted to work here when I got older, broadway. It's what I really wanted to do. I thought Jay would come with. But now?" She made an explosion noise softly as she walked with fang

"I know, dreams change though. Now we have to dream that we'll actually survive this and be able to be with someone, anyone after all of this, to be able to rebuild. Not likely," The last part she said under her breath so that Amber wouldn't be able to hear. Fang put on a bright smile and walked with Amber. "After we find a place to crash I found some cans with fruit, we can break into them and eat those for dinner."

"Yeah, I know you're right. I'm glad I found you fang, I really am" she laid her left arm over fangs shoulders in a sisterly way, a smile on her face. She made sure to keep her gun hand free, just in case. She walked slowly down the street "fruit? Sweet." She looked up at the buildings to see which looked sturdy

Fang was glad to have Amber around, she didn't feel so lonely then. She had followed a zombie once, all around New York, it had been interesting at first, but got boring fast, the zombie never talked back and kept trying to eat her. Fang smiled at Amber, "Hey what about that one?" She pointed to a small building that didn't look too decayed, at least not like the others that were in the area around them.

Oh you didn't see? That would explain it cx yay! I miss my baby Blair, shed be funny here. I'll go start on her. Omgsh btw with fang following her zombie around I just keep laughing, cuz I can see her doing that xD))

Amber looked over at the building and nodded "looks pretty good. Lets go check it out." She said, pulling out her gun, just in case. The building looked to have three stories, so they could stay in the top and be fairly safe. They just had to make sure it wasn't already occupied...

Fang watched Amber pull out the gun, she was glad Amber had one, but was also glad she didn't have to handle it. The bat in her left hand was more her style, she watched Amber's back as they walked over to the building, the door opened easily and Fang kept glancing over her shoulder to make sure the two of them weren't being followed by anyone, or anything for that matter. "Did you know there's such a thing as zombie ducks? There is, don't feed them bread, it makes them angry,' Fang told Amber randomly, she had already had an experience with said duck.

Amber was tryin to be all cool and serious, ready to kick zombie ass if it came to it, but fang always had a way of cracking her up. She chuckled softly and whispered "good to know" while she creeped through watch room in the house. Once shed seen that the place was in pretty good shape, and was empty, she grinned "welcome home, fang."

"Yay!" Fang let out with a soft clap of her hands, though she knew she had to tone it down sound wise, she was still the same old Fang. Hyper, happy, and all around too innocent Fang. "Well then I'll break out dinner while you look and see where you think we should sleep tonight, which room I mean," Fang said distractedly as she rummaged through her bag, it looked like she had a bunch of random things in it, probably not anything of much use besides the food.

Amber nodded and smiled, walking casually around the rooms now that she knew they were safe. She guessed this building had been a shop on the bottom level, then two apartments on the upper level, by the way the place was set up. The third floor was especially great. High ground, with locks on the door at the front. She found one room that must've been a living room. It had a large sectional that could easily fit both fang and herself, with its L shape.

Fang pulled out the two cans of fruit, and also a box of graham crackers that she had found randomly in a drug store. She didn't know where Amber was, and was afraid to yell, so she went on the search for her friend. She had the food and their bags in her arms as she searched the second floor, she then went up to the third floor, it was there that she saw Amber surveying a room that looked comfy, and so them. "Hey this is great Am," She said with a grin.

Amber heard fangs footsteps coming up the stairs, and wasn't surprised to hear her voice nbehind her. She nodded and looked at her "isn't it? It's perfect. I think we should take this floor as ours, keep everything up here." She said, roaming to the 'front door' and clicking the lock closed. She walked back in and sat down on the couch. It was getting chilly, and she pulled two hoodies out of her bag, both jadens. She slipped the black one on and handed the green one to fang

Fang set the food down in front of Amber, then the bags down on the couch. She accepted the hoodie thankfully, "Aw..." She said and didn't mention Jaden's name, she just slipped the hoodie on and inhaled her best friends scent. "So food," She said, not wanting to linger on sad memories or thoughts. Fang pulled out some bent, silver spoons from her her bag and handed one to Amber before she picked up one of the cans and got a spoonful of the syrupy food. "Bon appetite."

Amber smiled and breathed in the lingering scent of Jaden on the hoodie. She always made sure to wear his clothes to sleep, it was the only way she could actually get any rest. She picked up the other can and clanked it lightly with fangs "to not being alone anymore" she said with a grin, then dipped her spoon in and took a bite of the fruit. Not bad, not bad at all.
((How should I put Blair's history in? Should I say she and Haku are roughing it together? Or they got separated and she's looking for him?)

((Oh good question... hmmm.... we could say they got separated, then they find each other))

"Not being alone," Fang said happily and started to eat quickly, she was starving. "So we should go get supplies in the AM I think," Fang said thoughtfully. She wasn't sure if that's what they really should do but it sounded good, she smiled, proud of herself.

((Okay yeah, dramatic scene when they do, eh?))

Amber ate the fruit pretty steadily, she was pretty good at getting food and storing it. She had some in her bag at the moment, and fang looked so hungry she was tempted to pull it out right then. But she didn't, because they needed to save it for tomorrow. She nodded as she ate "sounds good. I have some random fruits and veggies in here for tomorrow morning, and probably enough for half of dinner" she said. She was now used to eating two meals a day, and they were generally forced. She didn't really feel like eating much, seeing decayed zombies all day and such.

((YEP haha cuz its so them, they'll probably roll around in the dirt or something..))

Fang finished her food quickly, she threw the empty can out the window, she heard the clang as it hit the pavement, and immediately regretted it. "Sorry Amber," She said quickly, she hoped she wouldn't get mad at the sound she had made, it didn't seem to attract any zombies yet, Fang crossed her fingers. "Okay, sounds good, whoever wakes up first can wake the other?" She suggested to Amber.

Amber listened closely, not moving for a minute or so. Hearing nothing, she let out a breath "it's okay, I don't hear anything." She nodded to her statement "perfect. I'm exhausted" she she said, fighting back a yawn as she finished up her fruit and placed the empty can in her bag. She could probably use it for something later. She curled up on the sectional

Fang nodded and then went to the other end, she pulled herself into the hoodie and willed herself to fall asleep. It wasn't an easy task, never was with zombies lurking around. She tried not to let her imagination run away with itself, which happened often to her, she did feel a bit better since Amber was in the same room with her though.

Amber had her gun nestled safely into her hands, sleeping with it just in case she was woken abruptly, and needed to fight. She drifted off to sleep fairly easily, jadens scent lingering around her

Fang awoke in the morning with a headache, she looked around her and figured out why. She had apparently fallen off the couch sometime in the middle of the night. Fang sat up and started running her fingers through her hair, combing it as best she could before she put a beanie on her head, it had bunny ears at the top, Fang was unique, who else would you see running around killing zombies with a bunny eared beanie on?

((When do you want them to find each other? Tonight?))

Amber was still fast asleep, snoring softly. She wasn't a light sleeper at all. Once amber was out, she was just plain out. And she didn't wake up until there was a loud noise, or someone slapped her across the face.

((Tomorrow probably, I haven't finished his yet >.>))

Fang finished by putting a faded plaid shirt on over a yellow camisole, she left the plaid shirt unbuttoned over jean shorts. She stood up and walked over to where Amber was sleeping, she sat next to her head and started poking Amber's cheek without ceasing, she planned on waking her up with the action.

Ambers eyebrows knitted together, feeling someone poke her. Sleep was gone by then, and now she was just annoyed. She made a noise like a five year old that wanted ten more minutes of sleep, trying to bat the hand away with her eyes still closed

Fang giggled and continued to do it, then she eventually moved her poking to Amber's side, she knew that her friend was ticklish. So maybe that type of torture would wake her up, she could tell this was going to be a daily ritual. It was too entertaining not to do every day, the thought made Fang grin like an idiot.

Amber felt the hand move to her side and her odd noise turned into a giggle. Which was followed by another one, and another, until she was squirming around, her eyes now open, giggling like a mad woman.

"Oh there you are, I was wondering if you'd died," Fang teased and quit the tickling. She didn't want to over due it and have Amber smack the crap out of her their first days as roommates. "Morning sleeping beauty," She said with a grin.

"Leave me alone fay, I like sleep." Amber chucked and grabbed her bag, starting to rummage through it for a change of clothes that maybe wasn't as gross as the tee and jeans she was wearing. She pulled out shorts and a tank top and pursed her lips. Not bad, shed just have to wear jadens hoodie all day today.

"Nice panties," Fang commented with a chuckle when Amber changed. She had no interest in Amber in that way but she liked to tease her, it was funny to see peoples expressions when she hit on them, they either played along or got uncomfortable, either way was amusing. Fang pulled out some jerky and started nibbling on it as she awaited Ambers instructions for their next move.

Amber rolled her eyes at her friends comment "shaddup Fay" she muttered with a chuckle, pulling on the tank top and hoodie. She knew fang didn't feel that way about her, so she didn't bother getting embarrassed. She probably wouldn't have even if she didn't think Fay liked her that way. She stuffed the other outfit into the bottom of her bag and pulled out a oacakge of green beans, and placed them between herself and fang. She picked one up and started to much on it "the breakfast of champions"

Fang picked up some and started munching on them as well, she also handed over some of the jerky. "Soo, think we'll find any other human life today?" she asked Amber with a raised brow, not that it mattered to Fang. She had her friend back, that was all that mattered in her little world. Fang was easily pleased, and amused.

Amber took a piece of jerky and nibbled on it as she listened to fang. She shrugged, not really caring either way. I guess she did want to find other people, but she didn't really have much hope for it. "Maybe. If we do, let's just hope it's good human life" she said in an ominous tone, trying to tease Fay.

"Yeah that's true, it could be some rowdy boys, ugh," Fang wrinkled her nose at the thought, the only boy she had ever been able to really stand was Jaden, and it wasn't in a sexual manner. "Maybe there will be some hot chicks around that aren't zombiefied, you never know," She said thinking aloud, not thinking that Amber might not want to hear her thoughts.

Amber chuckled at her friends "males? Gasp! That would be just awful" she teased. But she'd be okay with seeing some guys. Just in a friendly way though, she planned on being an old maid without jaden. If she lasted that long. She rose a brow "oh is that what well be doing today? Hunting down some non-duck companions?"

"Oh why not? Maybe we can turn you to the other team," Fang told Amber in a teasing voice, she winked and then started to clean up from breakfast. "Maybe we'll find some food too," She said as an afterthought, Fang really needed to get her priorities straight. Being a social person though, the alone time she had had made her crave human contact a bit though. So truly it wasn't really her fault.

Amber sighed "doubt it Fay. If I batted the other team if already be dating you" she teased back, throwing a wink fangs way as she cleaned up their breakfast

"Oh ho now the truth comes out, Jaden was just a cover to get me eh Amber?" She shot back with a grin. She liked bantering like they were, human contact. Yes something she had missed, and was glad to have back. "Hmmm we may want to look for more clothes while we're out," Fang said as she pulled out her one other set of clothes, a tank top and a pair of short black shorts. "Neither of us have much to wear."

Amber had recently been telling herself that jaden was fine. He was on vacation, and he'd be coming back to her someday. So the comment didn't bother her, it made her smile "oh yeah, poor guys gon be heart broken when he finds out. Oh well." She giggled and nodded in agreement "yeah, let's raid 5th avenue" she teasd, but the idea didn't sound too bad...

"5th Avenue sounds good," Fang said perking up. "I bet not many people raided clothes over there." Fang pulled on her brown, suede , hiking boots, then stood up. "Water, we need water too. I only have a bit left in my canteen."

Amber nodded "okay. So supplies first, clothes has to be our last priority. Lets head to some old shops and see what's there, we can get some water maybe in the park?" She said, sort of asking. She laced up her combat boots and tucked her gun into her belt

Fang shrugged, "Yeah probably. I'm ready when you are." Fang tried to look at their new life as an adventure, so she was pretty excited about going out to explore. "Zombies suck but they're so much fun to knock around," She said conversationally to Amber with a grin.

Amber chuckled as she gathered all her things and walked cautiously down the stairs of the building. She fully agreed with fang "yeah, I don't get why some people get all emotional about killing them. They're already dead. You're ultimately putting them out of their misery." She said
