I think the Indians actually think that they are gods. They mean them no harm for now, but I wonder what might happen if they figure out they aren't.
I seem to be with Amanda that Elaine's storyline is the only one I am hugely invested in at this point. The rest are a bit meh for me. But yes, we'll see how the last two sections play out, and I do hope there is a bit more of a tying together and wrapping up!

Ok week 6...The stories are starting to slowly converge but I still feel pretty disconnected. Elaine and her crew made it a little farther through the jungle and then ran into the Indians. They don't seem to mean them harm but I'm not sure yet how that's going to go and how they are going to figure out how to communicate with them. I really like Dietlev and think he has a great attitude despite lying in a stretcher with one leg cut off. I really hope he makes it. At least there is a search party looking for them now. I find Eleazard's lack of concern troubling. I know she is his ex-wife but I would think he would be more concerned. He hasn't made any effort to alert the daughter that she is missing. Speaking of the daughter I really dislike her and her druggie friends but I feel bad about what has happened to her.
I found the part about plagiarism interesting not really in how it relates to this story but just in general and how it must have been really difficult to prove back before copyrights etc.
With 2 weeks left I really have no idea how the last 200ish pages are going to go. I hope Elaine and crew get out and I hope the Colonel gets his due. I also will be happy to be finished with this one.
