Do you have a suggestion for our March Read? I'm thinking since our poll has 'Fantasy' in the lead that our March Read should be a fantasy.

I feel like you opened a can of worms by asking this question. So many books come to mind that I don't even know where to start. I'll leave a few different ones, because I know I can't just pick one book.

"Jake Kursed" by Glenn Bullion. It can be read as a stand alone book, but there is three other books that fit into the same world. Every book takes a different point of view of a new character. If you want to read them in order though you would start with "Demonspawn" I didn't do this, and it didn't make much of a difference.

The most recent fantasy book that I finished was "Wish" by C. H. Aalberry. It was a really fun read for me.

Next is "Nolander" by Becca Mills. This book had a lot of things in it that I have never read about before.

And the last one I'll suggest is "Darkhouse" by Karina Halle. I think this one is under horror, but I love the entire EIT series, so I can't really help myself.

I could probably write a book about books I want to suggest.

My favourite Fantasy books like Angie has a looong list. If I might suggest a few Series to put on your shelf for consideration they would be:

Anne McCaffrey - a wonderful author who sadly passed away last year but her son Todd McCaffrey has picked up the torch and continues The Pern Series. My favorite of that series being The White Dragon (you'll need tissues).

Jennifer Robertson - who wrote the Cheysuli series which I found completely captivating.

Robin Hobb whom I had the pleasure of meeting last year and we discussed our love of Fitz the protagonist in The Farseer Trilogy which was followed by up by the Lifeship Traders series. Robin is currently writing The City of Dragon series and it is wonderful.

Stephen Donaldson who wrote the Thomas Covenant, the Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant and is currently writing the Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. He also wrote a two book series called Mordant's need. I read that when I was young and till this day they are two of my favourite books. (I shamefully wrote to him recently begging for more :P ).

For the, supposedly, young readers I have read a few authors who's books are probably on the cusp of the Fantasy genre but I'll suggest anyway.

PC Cast and Kristin Cast wrote the House of Night series.

Richelle Mead the Vampire Academy and is currently writing The Bloodlines series which is a follow up series.

Well I think I've written enough (gift of the gab and all that), I think I did write a book about books I want to suggest lol. Ooops

Fantasy is such a hard genre. As much as I love these books, I swore to quit reading them if authors couldn't stand up to publishers and return to writing truly stand-alone works. I hate waiting for the next book in a series that should have been over two books earlier (Robert Jordan and Terry Goodkind both come to mind. LOTR was a single book that the publisher was unwilling to publish in that length in the 50s, so it does not count.

That being said, I would say Patricia McKillip's The Riddle of the Stars, the original three Earthsea Trilogy, A Wrinkle in Time (which I hear is being done as a movie again), or the Riyaria Chronicles. All of them are complete and out.
