2017 Reading Challenge discussion

I'm actually sad that this trilogy has come to an end, because I loved it so much! I'm glad I actually decided to start this. Gemma is one of my favorite protagonists ever! She's brave, smart, loyal and independent, you just love her! Despite being a little bit insecure and sometimes even stupid and even a little bit selfish during this last one, I could understand her. The ending was a little bittersweet to me, but I liked it overall. All the main characters got good endings, tying all the loose ends. I felt that there were somethings still left to answer, but they were such minor things that I could easily let it slide.
I also loved that the secondary characters got some development as well and that made the book much more enjoyable and the ending all the more bittersweet.

I had some problems with it, but nothing that damaged the book seriously, they are problems I had since the very first book, like Gemma's friends and her relationship with her family.

Overall, a good conclusion to a good trilogy, with strong characters and an amazing plot. I loved that Libba Bray breached the subject of women's rights in a society where women we're nothing but mere puppets, also dealing with queerness and different kinds of love and differences of social classes.

4/5 stars, and I will definitely read it again someday to enter the Realms with Gemma and her friends again!
