What do you think would happen if the everyone knew the earth was likely to be hit by an asteroid? Would everyone go on living normally?

Of course not. In Tommy Wallach's book, all hell breaks loose BEFORE the disaster hits. The book follows four students who attend the same high school in Seattle, with very loose ties to each other that grow stronger as the fated day approaches. Their lives intertwine more and more, for better or worse.

Some people are nice and try to do the right thing. More people are really horrible as possible doom approaches. Don't read this if you're looking for a happy book.

I liked it for the most part, but had a few issues. One - this book really fits in to the "new adult" category, or whatever you want to call it. I could never book talk this due to the over sex, drugs, and drinking. I think a lot of older teens would enjoy this book, however. Some of the characters were downright horrible, and did horrible things (but might this not be totally realistic if everyone believed the world might end?).

The accuracy of locations in Seattle and the greater Puget Sound area were great, but the lightning storm in late winter? Bzzzzzt. Great for dramatic effect, not at all accurate for reality. I suppose everybody outside of western Washington that reads the book won't be bothered by that though. I enjoyed the book, but it's things like this that bug me. Oh well.
