Kazuo Ishiguro has been on my to-read author list for a LONG time. This will be my first novel by him. Who else is new to Ishiguro?

Meeeee! I'm so excited to read this one. I've been wanting to get my hands/eyes on it since I saw the movie, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to love it. I remember the movie being pretty heavy, but it also made me think about it for weeks, which is awesome. Basically, let's do this!

Oh! I actually haven't see the movie. I also have very little idea of the premise of the story, so I'm going into this kind of blind.

AH! I am so behind with reading this month. I should NOT have decided to do a rainbow themed readathon when both of our picks this month are white! I will be starting this as soon as the readathon is done (on Monday). I still am really excited to get to this!

I'm so behind on commenting, it's not even cute. Still, I wanted to say that I loved this book so much. I loved that the beauty of it was in the writing and subtlety, that the story was about the characters and didn't rely on plot twists, that it was full of foreshadowing, and that the author trusted the readers to think for themselves. My literary fiction bar has been set really high now, and I'm looking forward to reading more of Ishiguro's work!
