Suzanne | 1582 comments I liked Janus' fight/escape scene, complete with the "cliff". So his 'angel' isn't trustworthy - we KNOW she lies to him, but in this case she did help him.
Another nice quote from this section too, "My swimming could be described as drowning sideways." There were some other, probably better ones, but that's one problem with the audio version - I can't highlight and look them up.

Sky | 1291 comments I'm also doing it in audio and wish I could have highlighted the quotes I love. I think it started with a bit of a slow start but the action is finally picking up now. I loved the Skilfar scene - the dialogue was great...Lawrence at the top of his game.

Tammy I am enjoying this book and Jalan is back to his Rico Suave ways, but you can't help but feel he is not completely the self centred Prince he used to be. I liked when he was poked by Kara and not in a good way and goes back to watch a seige where a tall formidable woman shoots her own sister with a bow, rather than negotiate with the enemy. He realizes he now knows his grandmother. The story is getting very interesting and I am not sure if Snorri should find that door or not.

Suzanne | 1582 comments Yes there are SO many great quotes. However, I do love the audio book too - I really like the reader. I'm loving the combination of scary/tense and funny. It helps too that I like Jal a lot more than I liked Jorg - I think I just relate more to him.

Suzanne | 1582 comments I'm not sure If Snorri should find the door or not either. He has good motivation to do so, but everyone else sure thinks its a bad idea!

Speculations about Jal's mother? I'd think his mind was messed with, making him forget, but he seems to cloud his mind pretty well on his own too so I'm not sure.

Sky | 1291 comments Yeah, I am not sure about why Jal didn't remember his mother being assassinated until Dr. Taproot let it slip (side note - Dr. Taproot is one of the best supporting characters, ever...esp how they did him in audio). I am also not sure what is significant about his vision of his grandmother (that happens in this section right?) It shows how much of a badass she is, but plot-wise it has to mean something! :)

Suzanne | 1582 comments You are right - Dr. Taproot is awesome! And yes, there must be something about that vision.....and at the end of the section its implied he may see more visions/dreams. Grandma is one tough woman!
