Anne Marie (henny2010) It took me some time to get into this book, but I have to say I'm glad I read it. I loved Luggage, and found myself chuckling throughout. It seemed as though Pratchett picked up steam as the book went along, and the second half was better than the first. By the time I reached the end, I knew I wanted to read the second book! 3/5 stars.

Governor (governorhippo) I agree with Anne Marie 100%, as long as it only concernes the first book. Didn't really like the second one at all.
But you forgot the hilarious scene on top of the mountain when the barbarian gets picked up by the dragon, and Pratchett explains the forces necessary to accelerate an object at rest to a high velocity in a short period of time. For me as an engineer that was the most hilarious part and I had to reread it like 2 or 3 times and it still just cracked me up (if that's the right expression). Even though I didn't like the second book I instantly bought Mort (4th book). Perhaps we can read it in July, don't know how the pickings of the books work.

Margret First half I wasn't into it, second half it got so much better for me. It reminded me of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy books but for Fantasy. Looove the luggage, and hoping to see more of Death in The Light Fantastic

Mary Catelli | 815 comments Death in The Light Fantastic is very like the Death in this one. I must warn you that changes lie ahead if you keep reading.

Anirudh I loved this book! One of the most hilarious books I've ever read. Rincewind, the baggage and DEATH have become my new favourite characters
