Chapter 2

I agree! I just have a question with the chapters: the first one is "Istructions for how to use this book" or "How I fell in love with improv: boston"? So we can count in the same way :)

Yeah. It's written in parts which is cool with chapters under each part.

I love books like Amy's and Tina's because they are honest about their life and what it's like.


(view spoiler)[ I agree. Her truth about writing was great. Just being honest on the fact that it's not easy to write, act, raise kids, and go through a divorce. She is honest and for a celebrity I like that. (hide spoiler)]

Birthing plan (view spoiler)[ this part was too funny. It had me laughing and than going what the f**k she is saying! I love how Amy is able to write in a way that is serious but still funny at the same time. (hide spoiler)]

My books on divorce (view spoiler)[ this was a very interesting chapter for me. My parents are going through a divorce at the moment. I'm 25 but it's still hard. In the end it was for the best for my mom and I. However what was amazing about this chapter was how much I noticed was right on what she was saying.

For example - you learn who your real friends are. Both my mom and I can relate to that sentence. Also when she said divorce was contagious was shocking cause it's something I have heard my mom say after she told some friends who started to step away from their friendship.

A very interesting chapter that I was able to relate to in a different way than her experience. Not as the person getting the divorce but of the child going through it with her mother. (hide spoiler)]

46% (view spoiler)[ I love how open and honest Amy is about the things in her life. Like the times she has screwed up and needed to and should have issued a real apology. Or how Lucky her and her husband where to have those extra hands to help raise their kids when so many mothers don't have to juggle to all. The work and the kids and the household and the kids stuff and the husbands stuff and so much more.

The pictures are great and add that extra personal feeling into her life.

22% (view spoiler)[I found intersting, true but very funny when she spoke about the demon, when we don't find ourselves beautiful. I smiled a lot, but it's true. And I laugh when she spoke about 80's pants! She's soooo right!
But I didn't understand very well the things that she say about amiocentesis and italian women... I'm italian and now, in these years, it's true that not all the women do it when pregnant, but they do it if the docs thinks that the baby could have some problems. In America all the pregnant women do amniocentesis? I'm just curious...
I loved also that, sometimes, we found chapters wrote from someone else, it's very original and I think is a great think! (hide spoiler)]

I'm not touched by this chapter in any personal way, but I found it very intersting, and I love her way to say things! (hide spoiler)]

37% (view spoiler)[I loved her writing and I liked very much the way she jump form a topic to another, and still all is intersting and funny. She's funny even when she speak about things that are sad or not so funny. I really appreciate that. (hide spoiler)]

67%(view spoiler)[I'm going slow with this one, becuase I need more fiction in this period. But I like that she jump from an argument to another, without an order, and I like the things she said. The chapters "How I fell in love with improv" are the most "boring", I love them less, but they're not so bad, it's just that I liked more the others chapters (hide spoiler)]

I liked more the part in wich she speaks about herself, about her personal life, about the problems of the routine and similar, and I liked less the parts about her works. But I think it was because usually I didn't know of what she was speaking. I'm Italian and not all the people she was speaking about is also famous here, or they're famous but I don't know them... I'm not too much in the show business, so it's normal that I don't know a lot of things. But it was a funny and enjoyable reading! (hide spoiler)]

22% Up to Sorry, Sorry, Sorry (view spoiler)[ Okay I totally did not know Amy Poehler was married at a time or had kids! I have no idea why I didn't know that. Clearly I don't watch SNL enough. I think Amy is super funny and I'm really enjoying this book. I can relate to the struggles with the inner demon and insecurities. Like Amy they didn't really hit until high school when my interest in guys finally evolved. Sometimes I think I'm pretty but not all the time. Trying to be happy with how you look is a struggle and I'll probably deal with for the rest of my life, but now I can do it like Amy Poehler. (hide spoiler)]

41% The Russians are Coming (view spoiler)[ Amy's young imagination is quite amazing. The stuff about those Divorce books were quite funny, but I also am sure it's pretty true. Divorce sounds very messy and I know my parents have come close to it, though I am not even close to being married lol. I also really liked the Sorry, Sorry, Sorry chapter as I think a lot of young women are conditioned to constantly apologize which is wrong. You don't need to apologize when you have an opinion. I cringe when any of my friends start by saying something as Sorry but... (hide spoiler)]

63% Up to Treat your Career Like (view spoiler)[ Okay Amy's sex advice was my favorite part by far. It's also pretty damn good advice. The other thing I like about this book is how other people come in and read things like her parents reading their advice for her and whatnot. So far this is a pretty quick read and I'm super enjoying it. (hide spoiler)]

78% The Original Brainstorm List (view spoiler)[ I feel like i should watch Parks and Rec now, but that would like cut into my book time so idk about that. Maybe in the future. I loved that list of names for Leslie's character it was hilarious. I forgot to mention the other parts of this book I really liked which was the stuff about awards shoes. I loved how Amy would get so into planning something to distract her from the actual award presentation. And the part where she sat in George Clooney's lap. Also I need to read Tina's book too. Finished (view spoiler)[ I liked how Amy included her boys in this, that part was cute and makes her book a bit unique compared to Anna Kendrick's book. I also really like the stuff about how her phone is trying to kill her and all her reasons about phones being bad (hide spoiler)]

The only thing I know about the day I was born was that I apparently looked like an alien. I was glowing. I have no idea if that were true or if my mom was high on pain meds - but I will never know since there were no pictures taken that day. (hide spoiler)]
Sorry: (view spoiler)[Oh god the apologies! I know that I apologize all the god damn time for things that aren't even my fault. It's in my DNA or something. I can totally freaking related to Amy and all of the sorry's we say. ALSO, how the hell did I forget that Amy was freaking married?!?! I've been living under a rock - I swear! (hide spoiler)]
Divorce: (view spoiler)[Oh god hearing about people going through divorce brings back memories. I have never been married nor have I gone through divorce - but my parents are divorced and went through the whole family situation when I was in fourth grade. For example, this all happened in 2001. Again, I was in fourth grade and my older siblings and I had to go through the whole which parent gets full custody, where are my parents going to life, how often do the parents switch kids, do we have to go to new schools? It wasn't really hard on us as kids because we were kind of just going to do what our parents said - but for our parents it was probably super stressful trying to figure out everything and see how we would benefit from it all. Sex: (view spoiler)[Always a popular topic but oh my god I was laughing so freaking hard when Amy was talking about all of this. Pretty sure I had tears falling from my eyes the entire time. God it was so funny. Honestly, what she said - we've all been there. (hide spoiler)]
Finished: (view spoiler)[OMG I LOVED THIS BOOK SO FREAKING MUCH. I loved everything about this book. God, this makes me want to watch parks and rec - which yeah.. I didn't ever watch. However, I did watch SNL! So yeah, that's how I fell in love with Amy. Pretty sure Amy is my spirit animal. (hide spoiler)]
