Inda and Tdor are another pair I love reading about and how they are slowly coming back together. I really wish them happiness. His relationship with Evred is the more complicated one and he isn't even aware of it since Evred keeps his feelings (mostly) well-guarded. I couldn't help but notice the parallel between his romantic feelings for Inda going unnoticed with his own obliviousness to the way Hadand feels towards him. Heartbreak all around for both of them.
Some of the military marches and the Venn perspectives dragged a bit for me and the way it was leading to this huge battle which turned more into a big fight instead was a little anti-climatic for me. Nevertheless, I'm glad that the fighting seems to have stopped at least at the end of this book but who knows what will happen in the next one.
The other thing that wasn't apparent in this one as the previous ones were the huge plot twists in the middle of the book that completely steers the last half in a different direction. There were still major things that happened, but nothing in the story truly shocked me the way the other books did. Nevertheless, I adored this instalment in the series and cannot wait to read the last even though it will be sad to leave this world and the characters I have grown attached to!

I do just have one note...did anyone notice the mention of how long a year was? I forget the number, but wasn't it around 440-odd days? I am curious if that means people's given ages are older than we'd expect.
Excited about Tau and Jeje. Hope there's less war-marching-detail in the next book, found it a little tedious. I'm concerned that Inda hasn't really considered how Fox will react about the treasure - it's like his higher thinking has turned off since getting to shore.
Despite sounding very negative here, I LOVED the book.
