For this week, I chose The Stranger by Albert Camus.
I was supposed to read this book in my Senior year of High school and gave up around page 20. I couldn't identify with the protagonist; in fact, I really disliked him. (Turns out, that's kinda the point)
For this challenge, I read the American translation, rather than the British translation. Why? Because it's easier to find on American bookshelves and is supposed to be closer to the original meaning of Camus's work. (Also, I can't read French)
After finishing the book, I'm kind of kicking young me for not reading it.
I read this book in French ( for I am living in Montreal) haha and I loved it ! :) The character is so out of this world and everything he does seems so strange to everyone but how he feels deeply inside didn't bother him at all. If you want to discuss more about this book I'm here!
