The Not a Book Club Club discussion

So I got a notification that "Mark" liked my List. I get that from time to time, and it's always about the NABCC list that we used to use to help pick group reads but apparently have abandoned.

I'm always curious when someone "likes" the list, especially these days.

I come to find out the Mark in question is Mark Lawrence

Mark is very active on goodreads, which is great for us, always willing to answer questions.

I like his sense of humor - The Liars Key (as well as the first book in the series) have sure been fun.

When I saw Mark was responding to this thread, I was like..did he just come here and post? ..but no, not that Mark.

He liked my facebook profile picture after i friended him on facebook. He also responds to chat on facebook :) He wont do voice interviews though - he is voice-phobic. But very active on goodreads, reddit, facebook, etc.

BTW the group read of The Liar's Key isn't abandoned - I am on chapter 9, but reading is going slowly while trying to close escrow :| Also I am way too stressed until escrow closes to focus and read. And once escrow closes I will be busy moving my way too much crap. I havent event finished crux or tao, dying to read nemesis games, and slowly working through liars key. But mid-July onwards will be all about reading on the deck of my house in the east bay hills with gorgeous views of the sunset over the bay and san francisco :)

btw we quoted a review on facebook about the excerpt of swimming is drowning sideways - not sure if he got that from Suzanne's comment in the TLK thread or someone else :)

And everyone else joined the cool kids to read Nemesis Games first! I know Suzanne started on Liar's Key after finishing. Not sure about anyone else.

Yeah it's just me and Suzanne :) I know more people said they were interested, I am hoping more people will jump in later after NG. And before QoF :)

I'll keep checking back for comments after I finish. I sadly don't get to listen to as much in audio books in the summer. A friend had asked me to babysit today and I mostly said yes because it is an hour drive each way and I thought I'd get some good book time in. But then she cancelled :( I guess that shows how much I'm enjoying the book though!

We had maybe 4-5 for NG? Not sure if anyone is still reading it. I think everyone that was commenting has finished already.

I am reading Liar's Key also just haven't made much progress. Been working outdoors a lot so mostly doing audiobooks. Going away for a few days next week so should be able to finish it then.

Hoping to start it this weekend.
