When reading, I usually drink coffee. I've also been doing a lot of my reading in the car lately. However, after answering the question "When reading," I'm also curious do you drink coffee or tea?

message 2: by Jane (new)

Jane Casey | 1 comments Pepsi or unsweetened iced tea with lemon

message 3: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa Edmonds (aedmonds36) | 18 comments Pepsi, an ice cold beer, or tea (hot or iced)
I read in the car, in bed, or on my deck.

message 4: by Terri (new)

Terri (clanmoran) | 1 comments I usually drink, whatever is around.....lately, though, I have been trying to be really good and drink more flavored water. I used to drink quite a bit of Coke. In the evenings, I will have some wine.

I read pretty much where ever I can.....chair, floor, car, bed, ANYWHERE!!!

Lynn Reynolds (goodreadscomelylibrarysec) | 3 comments Coffee both hot and cold. I also go for the extra large size.

Anna | 15 comments I usually drink coffee too. And love sitting on my porch swing while I'm reading.

I'll read anywhere too just lately it seems I've been spending a lot of time in the car. One of my favorite places to read would be on my porch when there is a gentle breeze blowing. Also, I enjoy reading while my husband is fishing. :) He would love it if I fished with him but I've never liked putting the worm on the hook or taking the fish off. So, he is happy that I am there with him even if I only read.

As for the coffee or tea question, I'm trying to cut down on my coffee intake but it is so hard. I switched to coffee when I cut my pop drinking down to one a day.

message 8: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) when reading I usually need a quiet place so I can lose myself into the book.

Harlequin Books (harlequinbooks) | 2386 comments Mod
I would love to always have a quiet place to read. You can get lost in your book and truly enjoy it to the fullest. However, silence doesn't happen all that often in my household. Luckily, my older brother trained me well growing up. My mom worked until midnight so it was my two older siblings who watched me at night. My brother loved to play his stereo at full volume. I learned to read, do homework and go to sleep while Ozzy Osbourne was screaming at full rock-your-windows volume. That skill has come in handy over the years.

message 10: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) Ah yes that does, however i just cant seem to get as much reading done with too many distractions, as im eSily distracted. Lol

Josh (joshlanyon) | 17 comments I usually fall asleep! I read to unwind for a little bit each night, but I am usually out like a light within about fifteen minutes.

I'm going on vacation in two weeks though--Catalina Island!--and I plan to spend nine days mostly reading (okay, also walking and eating and drinking and napping if I feel like it). ;-)

Josh (joshlanyon) | 17 comments I do sometimes read and drink wine. ;-)

LOL my husband is always yelling at me for doing that while reading. I have this annoying grey streak and he swears it is because I'm always playing with that lock of hair.

Do you drink flavored coffees? I've been thinking about trying some different ones but I'm not a fan of sweet ones so I hate to spend the extra money on what would be a treat for me if I'm going to be disappointed. I could use some suggestions.

I drink coffee. Iced tea, too.

The nut-based ones are nice. I drink Hawaiian Hazelnut. It's sweeter than a Kona, for example, but not ultra sweet.

Pam | 163 comments Since I read wherever I find any spare moment I could be driving or standing in line. However when I get that chance to lay around and read Sunkist on the porch before it gets too hot (I live in TX it is 84 today) or with hot chocalate and a book and my dogs on my feet.

Slightly jealous right now, although I would say you temp is to high. It is snowing like crazy right now. I'm supposed to get 8-12 inches by 5 p.m. est tomorrow. Our temps are in the negatives. Brrrrr. But, it is gorgeous.

Janis Kay (riceball1759) | 9 comments I'm a tea drinker:) Sometimes, I like something stronger (beer or wine), but mostly tea or water. One time, I was reading a scene where the character made a tomato and cheese sandwich. I got so hungry, I made one immediately XD I normally don't eat while reading, but this was extraordinary lol.

I usually read curled up on my couch, laying on my stomach over the bed, in bed, in the recliner or my bean bag chair in my reading nook :D Wherever the book stops me, I park myself there. Sometimes, the radio's on, sometimes not. Lately, I started reading on the train to grad school...not as comfy haha.

Is this something you did as a child and it has just carried over to the present? A new habit? I'm curious. If you don't have juice, do you eat apples while reading? If so, what is your fav? I'm hooked on the new Ruby Frost apples. Delicious!

I'm not a huge fan of most apples. I usually get them because my husband and daughter like to snack on them. I think it is the skin that makes me pass on them. However, the Ruby Frost is a delicious new apple that has made me a fan. I find it so interesting that you enjoy the juice but not the fruit. I'm like that with watermelon. LOL

Nicoleta (blue_snow) | 4 comments When reading, I drink a big cup of hot green tea most of the times. Coffee is just for the exam period when I take a break from reading for my exams with my reading for pleasure :D. I wish we had even more time for pleasure reading.

When I was a kid, I wouldn't drink cider. It's thicker than juice, imo. However, I've discovered in my advanced years that it can be great, especially when heated. My mom used to use it in recipes. I can't do that because my daughter has an allergic reaction to apples. :(
