Deana (ablotial) This is another "big" book that I'm actually listening to through Audible, 27+ hours of audio! So I've already started it (yesterday) and should be finished at or before this week. It's starting very slowly, and I'm not sure I like the narration from the point of view of the horse... but I'm told it gets better!

Margy Lott | 2 comments This is one of the books, few books I have read and reread from cover to cover. It is a roller coaster taking place on many levels at the same time. it does
start slow but if you take your time with it it builds and draws me in to a different world that is hard to differentiate from the world we live in. I find myself asking is this fantasy or an alternate reality?

Deana (ablotial) Thanks Margy! I just got to the second section today, and was a little sad. I'd really started to like Peter and Beverly and was enjoying their story, and now I've had to begin all over again with new people who I don't care about (yet? I hope)

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly the 'cloud wall' is. Fog? I guess it's just some mythical element.

Margy Lott | 2 comments there is a lot of threads that come together by the end of the book in surprising ways. However Beverly is the the central figure who is the first to ,"Cross over"
her father says and he says he is "jealous of her."
She understands light and she understands justice which Issac Penn calls a miracle. She also protects Peter Lake she says and he has nothing to fear with her looking after him. That is a real role switch for men and women.
I haven't figured out the cloud either if you do let me know.

Deana (ablotial) I'm about 2/3 of the way through this now and everything is definitely coming together, though I'm still not sure what I think. Definitely enjoying Peter's character as he is adapting to his new life.

Audra (audri8301) I'm also going with this book for Week #30. I'm pretty intrigued based on your comments so far.

Deana (ablotial) Audra, I hope you enjoy it! There are parts I really like, and parts that I'm not so sure about. It is pretty different from anything I've ever read before.

Deana (ablotial) Well, I finished this book on Thursday and have been thinking about it the last few days. Although I don't think this will ever be a favorite of mine, there were parts of it that were really good. The potential was there. But something about it just didn't do it for me. I liked the fantastical town of Lake of the Coheeries, but it bothers me that there were no real explanations of any of the fantastical elements.
