Nicely done. Some of the questions were worded trickily and I had to read them twice, even still I only got seven right. But at least the answers were all accurate. I really liked it!

I realised, after several people had already taken the quiz, that one question was not quite accurate - although the answer was correct nonetheless - and to have it right required that I re-word the question, which is now rather more complicated in wording than I would otherwise have it. Rather like the foregoing sentence!

Well! Considering I don't drink, don't bar hop and never paid attention to those establishments in real life, I'm not surprised I didn't pay attention in the books either. LOL Pure guesswork. I at least got 4. LOL

Miko, I don't think I've been in a pub since before Christmas and that was the first time in months. I might go more often if my local was frequented by hobbits!

Got 9 out of 12! Great quiz. We drew inspiration from the accounts of pubs in Tolkien's work for my 30th birthday party: good food, good drink, good company.

I've designed logos for all of the pubs in LOTR...
except for the green dragon and prancing pony. I have the mugs for those that are from the fellowship movie days.

A very good quiz, well put together. I am sure J.R.R. Tolkien himself would have approved of it, remembering how he liked to drink with his fellow Inklings in the Eagle and Child, or Bird and Baby, as they called it, in Oxford. I got nine out of twelve right, which isn't bad for a pub crawl quiz. I remember in 1972 they showed a programme on B.B.C television to celebrate J.R.R. Tolkien's eightieth birthday, called Tolkien At Oxford. One of the students interviewed gave some of his reasons for liking The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. "There are pubs in Middle Earth," he said. "And everything is alive. In Middle Earth mountains think."

Wow 7/12, and all this time I called myself a Tolkien expert! You can call yourself no such thing if you cannot successfully navigate your way through Middle-earth and find a good pub to drink at! Great quiz Michael!

Thank you to everybody who took this quiz and commented (all very complimentary :-D ) since early 2013. I was pretty much off Goodreads from then until a couple of months ago, so only just seen your remarks when new alerts came up.
