Book One of the Southern Reach Trilogy. I've read this one already, a few weeks ago. It's weird. It's hard to really get an idea of where the trilogy is going, because this book was short and focused on one very specific event without giving any real background information and leaving a lot of questions unanswered. I'm very curious to see what answers we get in the rest of the books.

Kristine [Trilogy Book 1: Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer] Not the kind of book I would normally pick up at all. I liked the cover, and the description reminded me of Lost, which I loved. Not really Lost-like, except that weird things happen. I prefer more of a psychological thriller than a supernatural one, but I finished it. It was okay for the type of entertainment it was meant to be.

Rebeccah Giltrow (rebeccah_giltrow) | 76 comments I read this one too. I quite liked it, although I felt like I needed more answers. Hopefully books 2 and 3 will answer those questions.

Deana (ablotial) I read this one for week 22 (scary book) although it turned out I didn't really find it to be scary. I agree with the comments here - it was interesting and kept me reading, but frustrating that we never learn what is going on. I guess (hope?) that's why it's a trilogy, more and more will be revealed as we continue through the other two books. I haven't picked them up yet, but I plan to.
