Book Three of the Southern Reach Trilogy.

I like ambiguity and things left unfinished, but I despise a wild-goose chase, a fruitless pursuit. VanderMeer's three books are intentionally very different. Sad for me that I really only enjoyed Authority since I wanted to love them all. Ultimately, I found Acceptance very disappointing. I looked over message boards for explanations and theories in case I missed something--and that's some weird reading--but there was nothing there to satisfy me. Appears I didn't really miss anything.
