Bob | 81 comments It seems like there has been no activity on this site and no posts from anyone at IVP in some time. Is this site still active? With all the good books you are publishing I'd hope so!

We don't get a lot of discussion the way we had hoped when we originally launched this group (with some notable exceptions ;) ) so we haven't done much with it lately. Any suggestions for what you'd like to see in this group?

Bob | 81 comments It seemed like there was more interaction when you or someone else was on the site more regularly, particularly with promos. I stopped posting regularly here in April because I saw no response, even from anyone at IVP. It would be fun if authors of new books might be on to interact, with advance announcements or for editors to respond to reviews of books they edited. Anybody else have ideas of what would help you interact with this group more?

Nick | 7 comments I second Bob's suggestions.

Adam Shields (adamrshields) | 42 comments I have subscribed to Bob's reviews directly. So I don't read them here. I post my reviews of IVP books here. But I have not read that many lately (no offense, I have been trying to read more fiction lately).

I think you need active participation to generate active participation. It is always a chicken and the egg problem.

Thanks for the suggestions! It's always tough to know where we should invest our time. I interact with most of you far more on Twitter, where I see your reviews and shares, so it has made more sense to put more time in there. It's also easier for authors to interact on Twitter and Facebook.

It is helpful for me to see that there is still interest in this group. I was originally hoping it could be a place where readers could discuss our books with each other, but I could definitely do more to encourage that. I'll continue to think of ways to revamp this group. Maternity leave is coming up for me here soon, so I might not actually put any thoughts into practice until October!

Bob | 81 comments Congratulations on the baby soon to come! Definitely higher priority. Definitely fine to hold off til October--sounds like you have higher priorities right now.

BTW, all my posts on IVP books also appear at bobonbooks.com. Glad to have you interact with them there!
