pics&books (cori3books) | 11 comments This is dark and twisty, just the way I like 'em! A fast read with interesting characters!

Please feel free to recommend any books you are reading this summer!

Nina | 6069 comments I am just finishing "The Queen Mother," and although it is gossip acquired it is compelling if you care about the English royalty.

I have read or listened to the following about Princess Diana:
The Way We Were: Remembering Diana
and
A Royal Duty
Both books are by Paul Burrell.

I feel that he knew her better than anyone. He was her "trusted personal assistant and confidante". (from the GR book description)

Nina | 6069 comments Thanks for that info, joy on Diana as I didn't think this author painted a very good picture of her. Was the book you read more favorable toward her?

Paul Burrell had only good things to say about Princess Diana. As you probably know, there are many biased opinions about her. I tend to believe Burrell's versions.

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Nina, I just realized that I have also listened to the audio version of The Diana Chronicles by Tina Brown. This book seems to give both sides of the story, if I remember correctly.

PS-I see that I wrote the word "heartbreaking" in my very short review. :)
