Red Dress Ink Fans discussion

Ok, so I'm a sucker for lists and being able to check or cross things off. I suppose that's one of the reasons I love these challenges so much - I get to see all those crossed off tasks. While trying to come up with ideas or even a theme for this challenge, I googled, "book challenges," and came across a website that has TONS of lists for not only books, but for movies, travel, food, candy, fast food places, etc. I clicked on this site and the light shone out of the edges of my computer screen like I was looking at heaven. A site dedicated to lists of lists! My mecca!

Well, once I started scrolling through, I found that some of the lists started to run together as far as what type of books the list was about. That got a little boring. I tried to (hopefully) to find lists that would have enough on them that we could choose a book from each. However, I did not do my homework and look at each one individually, so I don't know what books are on some (most) of them. That said, if you absolutely cannot find a book on the list that you want to read, please feel free to substitute with a book that you would put on the list. But make sure you let that be known, I think the rest of us would be interested to see what others would add to those lists...I know I am. :) You can just write "my choice" either before or after the book you chose.

Happy list hunting....and, if you want to, check off the books you've read and post your results for each list after your book choice.

THE RULES

YOU MUST POST YOUR TASK LIST!
1. The challenge runs from July 1 – September 30, 2015 and you MUST post your task list! (Don't worry if you don't have all of your books chosen yet, you can put TBD for a task without a book.)
2. Anyone may join in at any time, and count any books read between July 1 and September 30. All participants must post their book list in this thread.
3. Books do not have to be specifically from Red Dress Ink unless otherwise indicated.
4. You may only complete each task ONCE. Likewise, books may only count for ONE task.
5. To post points: Post the point value and number of the task you completed, as well as the book you read for the task. It also helps (me) to post your total points as well.
6. For multiple-book tasks: Books do not need to be read back-to-back, or in any specific order, but you must have read ALL the books for a task in order to be awarded points for it (no "half points").
7. Audiobooks and e-books are acceptable to use for challenges, as long as they are the complete and unabridged versions.
8. Books started before July 1 may count for any task in the challenge, as long as you are no more than halfway through the book as of July 1.
9. You may change the books on your list at any time however; changing books for tasks already completed is NOT permitted.
10. Re-reads of books are okay, unless the task specifically says otherwise.
11. The first person to complete every task in the challenge is the winner. If no one completes every task in the challenge, then the person with the top score will be declared the winner. That person will receive a $10 Amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com gift certificate via email.

Very fun idea for this challenge! :)

Thanks Tina, I'm most of the way through these lists, just realized I didn't specify two books for the 15 point challenges and three books for the 25 point challenges. So I just fixed that. I'm glad I put in the option to make your own choice, there are so many of the same books on these lists. And, I don't know if it says anything about me since most of them are "classics," but I really don't want to read about 90% of them. LOL

I think I'm going to have to pass on this one. :( I have very specific books I need to read over the next few months and I'm 99% sure none of them will be on any of these lists.

As much as I love the idea I don't know that I will be able to participate either. If I could do books that I have already read then I could make many of these challenges. Good idea! :(

Oh no! Really? That's really weird, they work for me. Hmmm....what if you copy and past the link? Otherwise, I got them from www.listchallenges.com/lists/books/tr.... If that doesn't work, just go with the titles and add your own books. :) By putting in that option, I tried to make it as user friendly as possible. Even if someone ends up doing it for all of them, no big deal. It means you can basically read whatever you want. But I thought it'd be a kick in the butt for myself, and anyone else like me, because I feel like I need to read more of the "classics."

I too love crossing things off a list. I'm probably not going to do too well this quarter though. :( My workplace is slated to move 7/11 and there's still work to be done. Plus, this is only a temporary move as our actual space is yet to be constructed.

That's good, it cuts down on your commute time. Hopefully a raise will come with the extra responsibility.
