Victorians! discussion

As some of you may know, I will be leaving in early July for a fabulous European trip. I live in the U.S., and have a wonderful opportunity to cruise down the Danube River for a week which will be followed by a week in London. Madge and custard tarts here I come ;-).

I'm posting this schedule very early so that we can hit the ground running on August 1 which is only a few days after my return home. I will also put the background thread up right before I leave. Each week's reading will include chapter titles in posting for clarity.

Reading schedule has been designed using the paper Penguin Classics edition.

August 1 - Chapters I thru VII
August 8 - Chapters VIII thru XIII
August 15 - Chapters XIV thru XVI
August 22 - Chapters XVIII thru XXII
August 29 - Chapters XXIII thru XXVII
September 5 - Chapters XXVIII thru XXXIII
September 12 - Chapters XXXIV thru XXXVII
September 19 - Chapters XXXVIII thru XLII

Have a lovely trip! Very excited about this selection. I actually read this last year and knew no one who had also read it. Cannot wait for the discussion threads! Well done.

A housekeeping note-I had been watching for Villette discussions but completely missed this as it is so far down in the list of topics-is there any way to get it moved to the top?

Sorry for my premature question, I'm preparing bookmarks so I won't read ahead for the different dates, but do we start chapter 17 or 18 on the 22nd of August?

I'm probably in the third chunk by now! Somehow got mixed up about when to start reading, I thought it was earlier xD can't wait until we start discussion! This one already feels very different from all the other Brontes, Austen and anything else from that order.

I'm so sorry I missed this! I have Villette and had been planning on reading it without even realizing this group read was going on! I decided on Dracula for Halloween, now I wish I'd paid more attention to what is going on in this group. :(
