I'm 6 and a half hrs away so idk but it looks awesome and I didn't know about it so thank you very much for sharing!

Scares That Care 3 is coming in July 2016. It is the best convention in the world. The aura is one of fun, kindness, and passion for the genre. If you find yourself within ten hours of Williamsburg next July, please go. Legendary horror writer Brian Keene creates the author programming, and the past two years have included folks like Jack Ketchum, F. Paul Wilson, Edward Lee, Jeff Strand, Tom Monteleone, Ron Malfi, and others.
In short, you should go. It's awesome.
Don't make me show up on your doorstep.

Dude, traveling that far would earn you some kind of medal. I forgot you were in California.
Well, I'll just say this: I'd love to meet you, and it would be awesome if you could come to STC, but if you don't you have a good excuse, and we'll hang out some other time, preferably sooner rather than later. :-)

I really hope you go, Ctgt! Not to be creepy, but how far do you have to travel?

Ah, that'll be cool. When the wife retires, I'll expect you to be at all the cons I attend. :-)

Twenty hours?! Yikes! Okay, you get a pass too, Robert. But it'd still be cool to meet you one of these days.

I can't speak to that, but I will say that traveling to and from Virginia Beach from Williamsburg inspired a future scene from a horror novel.
*thinks of tunnel and shivers*

I just need you to get out San Francisco way! Problem solved :)
I still am going to try and make it to STC. Would be pretty awesome and I'm sure well worth the trip.

What part of SF do you live in? We didn't get to too many neighborhoods, but we did manage to visit a few, including the Mission District where we met up with the Sword & Laser folks here on Goodreads for their first monthly meeting over at Borderlands.

Hope we get the chance to meet, Jon. :)

Definitely agree, Jonathan! I have flown to WHC before, but it's rare, so maybe some year I can fly there instead. I usually only do cons within driving distance (of Dallas). I'm curious to see how the splitting of WHC from the Stokers and the creation of the new StokerCon is going to go. Seems like it might end up dividing the crowd and lessening both of them, but who knows.
If you happen to be anywhere near here, let me know!

I live in Livermore, which is about 40 minutes outside of SF. Very cool you got to Borderlands. Best book store around and they do some occasional authors events. I got to hang out with Scott Sigler when he was still living in SF. John Shirley hangs out in the coffee shop too.

That would be awesome, Walter!

Will do, Robert! The splitting of those cons will definitely be interesting to watch. I'd love to go to one, but with my three younger kids, it might be unfeasible, at least for this year. One of these days! :-)

Very cool, Bill.

You better not break our standing date. You OR your brother-in-law. :-)

Here's a link to the schedule of authors STC authors list.
The end of July is pretty tight for me but I'm hoping to squeeze this in to the schedule, so many great names.
