Kirby Howell (kirbyhowell) | 2 comments Hello everyone! Below is a synopsis of Autumn in the City of Angels, a young adult apocalyptic romance novel with a scifi twist. It's the first in a trilogy, followed by Autumn in the Dark Meadows. The third book in the series, Autumn in the City of Lights, is scheduled for a late summer 2015 release.

The first book in the Autumn Series, Autumn in the City of Angels, follows 17-year-old Autumn Winters after an apocalyptic plague wipes out almost all of Earth’s population. Alone in what’s left of Los Angeles, Autumn must learn how to care for herself in this drastically altered world. Finding food and clean water, securing electricity and safety, and deciding who is trustworthy and who is dangerous becomes her day-to-day fight for survival.

Among Autumn's newfound friends are siblings Ben and Rissi, motherly Connie, and mysterious Grey, a young man much wiser than his 18 years and harboring an unearthly secret.

The 1st book in the Autumn Series has accumulated several accolades, including being a 2014 National Indie Excellence Award Finalist, a 2014 Kindle Book Review Award Semi-Finalist and it received an honorable mention in the 2014 Beach Book Festival.

For anyone who would like to read the first book in the series, we're offering a free Kindle copy in exchange for an honest review!

Marie (naturechild02) Hi guys!

I have two books that I self-published this month. One is a book of poetry written by myself and my late grandmother. The other is a children's picture book, just out today, that I wrote with my eight year old daughter. (She also did the illustrations.)

Here are the links here on GR if you want to take a look:

Hi Keith, have I added you to the list? I'm a huge Poe fan so your book sounds intriguing. Follow the submission guidelines if you are interested in the read and review process here.

My favourite fantasy series is Stephen R Donaldson's, the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. (the second and third series are great, too, but the first is the best). As a teenager I loved David Eddings, and more latterly I have discovered the exquisite prose of Patrick Rothfuss.

Hello, everyone. I self-published a short story collection called Grains of Sand back in 2009, which I now list for free. My newer stuff is all marketed as 99-cent short stories. I am happy to be a part of the group!

Martin Marais Hi everyone,

I self-published a historical novel last year about a battle in the Anglo-Boer war; The Battle of Paardeberg: Lord Roberts' Gambit.

The story is told from the perspectives of several of those, from both sides, who took part in the battle, including famous British officers (who were leading generals in the First World War; such as Haig, French and Kitchener) and Canadian officers as well as from ordinary soldiers.

I am pleased to say that it has received very good reviews, including from those who had no idea about the war itself. One reader told me that that fact that it was set in a war about which he knew nothing did not matter, because he was more interested in the story of those who took part and what the out-come was.

And the best part is that I thoroughly enjoyed researching and writing it!
