Dujek Onearm's demise off-screen is truly tragic - for one of the greatest generals (if not the greatest then) of the Malazan empire.
The pacing of Chapter 15 is possibly one of the best yet, especially when the scenes switch from Paran to Quick Ben to Apsalar to Torahaval to Hurlochel, all which seem to be pointed towards the same showdown location of Poliel's temple. Amazing chapter!
100% agreed TS. I took a little breather from this to complete the Booktubeathon Challenges but I am hoping to finish it up this week now and get onto the next one and Seveneves as I am very excited by the fact that you gave this a 5* rating.
I love Paran. Just thinking over how far he's come and all he's been through since we first saw him as the little boy right at the start of GotM is so fun! I'm happy he's become the Master of the Deck becuase as you say, he's pretty flipping awesome.
Loving the pacing too, and generally just everything is interesting as always :)
Can't wait to get further through and see your final thoughts too so just a quick message to say I am working my way through it still and I shall hope to catch you up very soon! :D

How do you guys feel about the small entries at the start of each chapter, are they all coming together or giving you clues?
Do you think that Erikson has improved as a writer from GotM?
Have you any thoughts about the general state of Malazan and what you want to happen in the end?
