The Mortal Instruments question

I read the TMI series and I loved all the books. I loved Clace, Sizzy, Malec and everyone, well mabey except for valentine. The thing is when I try to remember what actually happens in the books I can hardly recall anything. I remember the beginning of the series and the end, but the rest kind of blurs together. of course there are som scenes I remember but the main plot in some books is forgotten and I mix different things in different books.
