I switched English classes in high school, going from a class that was about to read this book to a class that had already read it. I was rather pleased about avoiding it, so it was the first book that came to mind for schoolhouse shame!

I read this one in high school. I like the message of the book, but I have trouble reading books that are allegories. I feel like I can't enjoy the story because I'm constantly looking for the hidden symbolism and messages.
