I'm glad Winter and Jane made up. Perfect timing to save Winter, Bobbie and blanking on the 3rd one's name. With an S. (She organizes everything for Winter)

I'm curious what the general's plan is marching them so hard.

Looking forward to tomorrow's listening.

I really don't like Jane anymore. She's really selfish.

She has some good points to make about Janis. I'm sure she's partially right. Not sure Janis cares about Winter or any of his troops beyond their value to him. He won't spend them needlessly, but that's not the same thing as caring for their well being.

But despite that, Jane doesn't understand that Winter's loyalty isn't just to Janis, but to the army, and her troops.

It's to be expected though. I'd have been really pissed if Janis let himself be taken like that. I don't fully trust him, but he has my trust until he shows otherwise.

Either way this book is tough to put down. It's been so good thus far.

Oh, and I sure hope the Penitant Damned didnt get the Thousand Names.

Suzanne | 1582 comments All good points. I Kind of forgave Jane briefly when she came back, saved Winter, and then took the whole magic revelations so well. However, before I could log in and say I liked her more, she behaved badly again. She is probably somewhat correct about Janis, but you are completely right - she doesn't understand the loyalty to the troops at all. Grrrr.....

I hope they don't get the Thousand Names either. Boy is there a lot to wrap up! So much is happening, and I'm really interested, so I bet I'll finish today.

Yeah, I found it funny you had a bad vibe about Jane so much earlier than I did in the book. I wanted to jump in and agree with you, but I didn't really feel that way until this section.
