Cheryl (cherylllr) I thought it would be nice to have a place where we could ask each other for support and ideas, to interact.

Cheryl (cherylllr) To start things off, I have a question for everyone. There's no right answer; I just want your opinions.

I'm not in the habit of using my e-reader yet, so I have very few books on it and don't feel a fret that I'm neglecting them. But I am reading a few from it this year as assorted events come up in other groups.

I'm not sure how I want to record those. I could set myself up in the e-dingus challenge here, but I don't have any idea what a reasonable goal would be.

I could simply count them to my Home Alone challenge, but these books don't take up any space on my shelves, so they don't really fit the idea of why I joined Home Alone in the first place.

I could not record them for this group at all, the way I currently read library books and don't count them here - but they're not library books.

So. I know this is trivial, but if any of you can empathize with my confusion and chime in, please do!

Elle (louiselesley) :o

I use an e-reader exclusively so I'm probably no use at all!

I would probably just set up an e-dingus challenge but set the goal very low, then a few months down the line you can maybe tell how many you'll realistically get read?

My Home Alone challenge is being used for eBooks that are very old and taking up room in my virtual shelf!

Cheryl (cherylllr) That's probably not a bad idea. Thanks for reminding me that I can always change the goal.

Good luck on your challenges!

Anybdy else?

Stefania (stefychi) I'm "using" the edingus challenge to count them. This is the second year that I use my (actually it's my mother's) ereader.
If this is the first time you read ebooks, as Louise already said, set the goal very low and then change it if you want!
You could also count how many ebooks you should read this year in order to complete all your challenges and then set the goal! This is the "method" that I use :)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Did you find that there's kind of a learning curve, so to speak, with getting in the habit of using an e-reader?

I've tried off & on for a few years and have to relearn each time how to make notes or highlight bits - I love bookdarts on paper books but can't use them on digital books! And I just plain forget to pick the silly thing up unless I see it in my son's hands, and I don't want to ask him for it then cuz I have access to it all day while he's at school. Oh I'm so lame.

I'll do that, though, create an e-dingus shelf and challenge. Let's see if I can remember how.
