Tayla's List

I read the first five Artemis Fowl books last fall, and I really like this character. This is one book that I actually bought retail (although I had a 40% off coupon) I usually try to buy used.

The Deviant Strain by Justin Richards.
This is a Doctor Who novel. My interest in the TV show was recently rekindled, so I've started reading the novels again.

Third Book
Only Human by Gareth Roberts.
This is another Doctor Who book. These books are like snacks. I can get through one in a day.

Fourth Book
Scales of Justice by Daniel Hood.
This is the fourth book of a fantasy series that combines fantasy with a who-dun-it mystery. It's a medieval setting. The main character investigates crimes, and he has a miniature dragon that helps him.

A Spell For Chameleon by Piers Anthony
I don't know if I want to actually count this one on the list as I have read it before. I guess I'll wait til the end of the year and see how close I am to 50

Book 5
Necromancer by Gordon R. Dickson.
The first in an eleven book series (The Childe Cycle) that was written over a 50 year period. Looking forward to plowing my way through all of them.

Book 7
Seventh Son by Orson Scott Card
The start of another long series, this one a six book series called Tales of Alvin Maker. I'm going to like this series a lot, too.

So I've just finished my Ninth book.
The Diamond Throne, David Eddings

Took me almost two weeks to get through this one, which is unusual for me. It was long and complicated with lots of characters. I liked it a lot.

"
Tayla, I would give To Say Nothing of the Dog another try sometime. I read it to my boys and it took us an entire year, but it is still a favorite. It had a lot of humor, but I agree it has a slow start.

I read almost exclusively fantasy and scifi, and occasionally a mystery or a crime drama.
I didn't keep track last year, but I'd bet that I got pretty close to 50.
