The Rules
question
This book deserves a movie!

The story of this book is so fantastic and original, I'd love to see on the big screen Ariane and Zane. lol

This would make a terrible movie because there was almost no real action until the end and the majority of the story is people thinking about stuff. While there were a few good plot points, you just couldn't sell this as a movie except as a pure romance. And honestly this book doesn't have the popularity to pull that off.
I mean it was okay, and this is kind of offensive to the book... but really good books tend to make horrible movies, and bad books make amazing movies. That's just how I see it.
Movies usually DESTROY the book. Percy Jackson, anyone? How about I am Number Four? City of Bones? Exactly.
Anyway, this book isn't fit to be turned into a movie. Why?:
A) Popularity. If you went on a YA group on Goodreads and said, "Who likes 'The Rules' by Stacey Kade?" most people would probably say "huh?"
B) Action. There is no action. Not real action, anyway. Seriously, knocking someone out and then talking to a bunch of guys with guns is not considered action.
C) Boring. This book (even though I do like it) is boring. Terribly so. She goes to school, tries to keep her head down, her friend ditches her, she meets guy who is plotting against her, the fall in love and defy the popular girl, blah blah blah.
So, no. Just no.

i have to say that while i enjoyed the story - i think that i may be on the same page as a few of the others here. i don't know that it would make for a great movie. i think that the biggest bulk of the action was the last few chapters and that wouldn't make for an exciting movie. it's more your typical teen angst drama - and that should probably stay on the pages of a book.
