What time period does the books take place? because sometimes it seems like old times and sometimes it seems modern!

i know! like the computer in the Austere Acadamy is the ONLY thing that makes me think it's early depression, late/mid 20's...
i know! but like in the grim grotto there is a picture of the taxi and it looks totally old fashioned!!
yeah I thought it was pretty old until the part about that computer, but other than that it seems to take place a while ago...
yeah it was nero but it was like a really old, non-internet computer that was all huge and chunky and stupid but i think it was supposed to be like a timeless, non-existent era because
A. like none of the stuff that happened in the books is actually possible
B. the car was really, really old looking. like as in the first cars
C. the way they dress
D. there was a computer
i think he sort of made one up.

yeah, i agree Emma, totally. i think he purposely threw in things like the computer so it couldn't be a specific place or time.

hes one in a million...
i shudnt say that..its reminds me of hannah montana.... not good

who knows....
i bet he does[lemony:]
but hes to MYSTERIOUS to tell us!

hahaha, im thinking the eighties

I'm thinking it's an alternate reality so there's no specific time period. ;) hehe. It's too quirky to be normal "earth".
