I certainly do know of one. Happening on the first weekend in March, at Raglan on the west coast near here, we are having a special gathering for the Mauis Dolphins, who live in the waters there. These dolphins are the world's most endangered dolphin and there are only 55 of them left alive. They are dying in fishing nets.
We have Maui's dolphin days and we march on parliament and write letters to the govt, but they are more interested in keeping the fishing industry happy than saving the dolphins.

Here's a dolphin saving event. It's a mass tweeting campaign urging the Olympic Committee to deny considering Japan's bid for the Olympics unless it stops killing dolphins.

It's not exactly an animal event but it benefits an animal shelter, but in Mentor, Ohio from 9-4 on Saturday, April 20 2013, is an event called: Spring Fling Craft and Vendor Show.
Over 60 local vendors, including myself will be there.
100% of the ticket proceeds benefit both Ashtabula County Humane Society and Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.
If you know anyone in or around Ohio this is a good event to attend.
The Humane Society is also bringing adoptable animals to the event.

I have another event I feel should be mentioned here. Saturday, August 10th is the date of the 19th annual Mutt Strut.
Mutt Strut is the annual pledge walk that hosted by Lake Humane Society each summer. There will be many activities for participants to enjoy. Some of these activities include: the one-mile walk, canine games and contests, prize raffles, an agility course and rally training course provided by our friends at PetWorks, a Chinese Auction, food available for purchase, "Project Ruffway" a runway show of adoptable dogs at LHS, informational booths about LHS, face painting and crafts for children, shopping at the Mutt Mall which includes a bunch of vendors who support the cause and so much more!
While Taco and I are attending as vendors, and I have never actually been to Mutt Strut before, it sounds like it will be a really fun event. If you live in or near Ohio, the event is taking place at Mentor City Hall (8500 Civic Center Blvd.) in Mentor, Ohio.

Woofstock 2013 is coming up on September 22. The event supports Rescue Village, an animal rescue center located in Kirtland, OH. This is kind of an animal event. Several authors, myself included, are donating our September royalties to our local animal shelter. Any authors who want to can be involved in this. Unfortunately, as it's official release isn't until October and I'm not supposed to do much promotion on it until then, I can't donate profits from Book Three in my Series.
