this thread dedicated to thoughts/questions when reading the first 3rd or half of the novel. Avoid spoilers (mark them if you have to include them). There will be a final thoughts thread allowing spoilers.

I'm 24% through.. This is another title that doesn't start off bad, but does start off making wonder where the heck Dick is going with this. I must admit I haven't read a synopsis of this book, so I don't even know that basics of what it is about. Typical Dick so far.

Alex DiDonato | 3 comments About 20% through. As usual, the details of this strange world are slowly being revealed. I also don't know the synopsis beyond what I've encountered so far. Can't tell where it's going yet, but that's not a bad thing at all.

Alex DiDonato | 3 comments Really liking where it's going now, just got to Chapter 8.

message 5: by Sérgio (new) - added it

Sérgio | 54 comments Sorry to come so late into the discussion. (only this week I had the genius idea of checking my local library for it!)

I already read the first 3 chapters and this seems PKD as it should be expected of him in that era: unlikable female characters, simulations, unhappy protagonist, the Earth in a space war (the cold war must have had a big effect on him), drugs, very powerful characters and very normal ones.

I'm enjoying it so far...

Nicholaus Patnaude (nicholauspatnaude) | 1 comments I've been reading this for the last few weeks and have been noticing a great many Lazy Brown Dogs in their carts. I have also begun noticing two different versions of my local doctor, one of which is dead...or possibly a Robant. I'm about halfway through this psychotic/prophetic work of genius.
