Hi guys!

Its that time again where we are starting work on a new group collaboration post for the blog. The topic for March is ebooks in a debate we're lovingly calling 'Team Paper vs. Team Plastic'.

If you'd like to get involved then we'd love to hear from you :)

All you have to do is let us know which team you're siding with - Paper (we stand by the printed word!), Plastic (ebooks are the future!) or you can choose the neutral team who like the idea of having options and want to have it both ways!

If you want to you can also provide any reasons behind your choice of team, for example...

- what are the pros and cons of ebooks/the printed word?
- have you actually tried out ebooks or do you just dislike the concept?
- what is it you love about reading an actual book?
- do you like to collect books and series?
- how do you think ebooks have affected the way we read? & how are they affecting libraries?
- are ebooks encouraging more people to read?
- do you think the prices for ebooks are fair?
- if you're choosing the neutral team why do you like to have the option to read both ways?

Obviously you don't have to answer all of these questions - they're just there to give you a few ideas!

Hope to hear back from lots of you soon :)

Jane | 3 comments I got an eReader for my birthday at the end of last year, and I have to say that now I have one, I wouldn't be without it.

I am a big library fan, I visit my local library at least once a week (though I've been slacking a bit recently), and when my friends bought me my eReader, they specifically chose a Kobo over a Kindle, because it allows me to borrow eBooks from the library, whereas a Kindle doesn't. They don't have a hugely wide selection at the moment, but I'm sure that will change in the future.

I guess I'm probably a neutral, I think there is room for both eBooks and traditionally printed books. I would hate to see books die out, but I do think that the important thing is that future generations read, no matter what form the books come in!

Nora (norahall) | 3 comments I once thought I'd never use an ebook, but now that I have one, I'm hooked. Not that I'm willing to give up paper, but the back lighting at night makes it easier on the eyes and lets me read so much longer––and I can carry several books on vacation without adding any weight.

Thank you for your opinion Nora, I will include it in our blog post next week!

Nora (norahall) | 3 comments I just read an interesting comment by Maureen Dowd in Sunday's NY Times. She too was talking about the change from paper to electronics, and her final comment was, "It is not about HOW you're reading. It is about WHAt you're reading." An astute observation for a print journalist.
