I haven't read any of her books in a long time, so looking forward to it myself.

I am having the same issue, realizing that the best seller group is expensive! lol

There's a downside to every worthy project!

I am intrigued by Binchy now, so maybe not all is lost. I hope it is not out of line to ask the group which book might serve as a good introduction (if not this one)? Ive put it on my to-read shelf and may swoop around back to it... I am just too obsessed with that bizarre Scientology book at the moment! lol (edit: and I don't mean Dianetics haha)

The one by Lawrence Wright? Just read that.

Yes!

Are you talking about the new one that 'exposes' Scientology? It looks interesting.

It's really good. As is INSIDE SCIENTOLOGY, that came out last year.

I think it's newish, yes. Going Clear is the title. I would say it is exposing things to say the least! :) It is written in a competent journalistic fashion, the reader gets to impose judgement. It's fascinating. So sorry to derail everyone!

Thanks. I got a sample on my Nook.

I hear you Cherylanne, but there's also great books I might not have read. All part of the experiment!

With this book, A Week in Winter, I did not have this same difficulty. I liked it from the start but I don't think there was anyone character I liked best. Although I'm mighty impressed that Chicky was able to keep up the ruse for so long... I would have caved long before! Thinking back on it though, the chapter on the principal was my least favourite (nasty woman).
I will be sure to pick up Maeve's other books when I cross them next.

I have recommended this book to many. I love stories with many characters whose lives intersect and how they all fit together. All these characters end up in the same place and each seems to have a connection to each other in a way no one knew they needed.
I love that there were happy and not so happy stories, made everything seem more real. While I am sure no one liked the principal, she made the story more real. It was not magic for everyone!
