I hope everything is well with you all. I wanted to let you know about a couple things that have been going on with the group.
I first want to thank everyone who participates in the group ( I know Shelby feels the same).I really love this group and we are over a 1,000 members now! I cannot believe how fast this group has grown in the last several months.
There are a couple of things I wanted to let you guys know about!
* We are still doing a BOTM Read as well as the Member pick read. Right now we have a small amount of people participating in the reads and hoping more will join. We understand everyone has lives and at points where they are very busy to include the Mods. We are asking if the book really peaks your interest that you would consider joining that months book discussion.
Also if you are interested in wanting to be a member pick there is a thread in which people can submit their name.
There will also be a new book read of psychology fiction. Some people like discussing both fiction and non-fiction books and we think by discussing a fiction book with strong psychology elements that we can bring also new people as well as new areas of psychology to discuss! There is a section where you can suggest fiction books with psychology ties/backgrounds and what I will do for now is put them in a drawing for now but it will be eventually run like the BOTM.
There are also areas for topics of interest to discuss. Right now the areas are Abnormal psychology, Hoarding, Clinical Assessments, and Neurology. SO come take part in the discussions there or make suggestions for new areas to discuss! The Topic idea area is under the general area thread.
We also have our first reading challenge up. P*S*Y*C*H*O*L*O*G*Y! Come check it out. There will be several up in the not far future! The goal for this is to see what other people are reading and hopefully bring on new ideas and possible new areas of discussion.
I am constantly working on new ideas for the Study of Mind fun area. Right now there is discussion of the Big 5 and the movie Side Effects. Remember this area is for fun and should always be respectful.
I am also looking for more fun poll ideas but this has been harder then I thought. I am always looking for suggestions.
