Never Too Old For Y.A. & N.A. Books discussion

The group has been approached by author Katharina Gerlach for a Read 4 Review of her book . . Victor's Rage. She is offering up two books at this time, and you are able to request both, if you would like. Katharina's other book available for R4R is Ann Angel's Freedom. If you request just one of her books, the deadline is 11:59pm EST on March 20th. If you request both books, your reviews are due by 11:59pm EST on April 3rd.

Rieke should be happy. Her family is prosperous, and Willem, the man she loves, wants to marry her and emigrate to America with her. But in 1848 Germany, she doesn't determine her own happiness, and her mother favors a different candidate for marriage. Of course, she too has her daughter's happiness on her mind since Willem is not the heir of his farm, and his chances to support a family are slim.

But the lovers don't give up easily. Rieke manages to convince her mother to grant them a period of grace. Willem, who always wanted to leave, sets out to become financially independent, but gets involved in the German Revolution instead. While he's away, Rieke looks for an affordable but fruitful farm and discovers her late father's secrets. Will the two have to emigrate to America after all?

The author will be giving out copies in ePub, PDF and mobi formats via email. To request, please post your email address AND the format you would like. It is your responsibility to check for the book and download it. It is also your responsibility to contact me immediately if you do not receive the book or have a problem. In exchange for the free book, the author requests an honest review of her book not just on Goodreads, but also on other site you use, ie B&N, Amazon, etc.

Anyone in our group can sign up for this. Reviews are required to be posted on Goodreads. Once you are finished with your review and have posted it on Goodreads, you are REQUIRED to post your Goodreads link to it on this thread.

Even though this book is being gifted to you please do not share it with anyone. It is unethical and disrespectful to share books provided to you for reviews.

Further Info from the group, not the author: If you do not complete the e-book within the time given, and you do not post your link on this thread or I do not hear from you stating that you intend to finish and review the book, you will not be allowed to participate in future Read 4 Review events. This is to prevent people from getting complimentary books over and over without fulfilling their obligation.

Do not message me nor the author requesting the book. All info is to be posted here. This for the ease of the author and the mods and fairness to all. If you do not wish to share your email publicly, please do not request.

If there are any other authors looking to do this with our group, please message me. You MUST be willing to provide copies, free of charge, to the reviewers.

The two books are very different in tone/mood. So if the first one isn't your cuppa, give the second one a try, please. They can be read independently from each other.

Hey...haven't seen any reviews going up yet. Just because you've read it and went onto the next one, you should be putting up your reviews upon completion. I know how hard it is to remember what you want to post in your review when there's been time between completion and review.

Thank you Katharina Gerlach for letting me read you book Ann Angel's Freedom Book one of Walsmann Family Saga. I enjoyed this Being an Historical and Fiction story you must have researched a lot for this book and i'm sure that took a lot of time to prepare your story plot and you definitely wrote this the story in a way that anyone reading it would feel the disappointments of the stipulations placed in the 18th Century of life and at the same time they were fighting for their rights. I Loved this story and the characters I finished this one and started book 2 right after. I love books that have been well researched and this story has been. I love authors like Katharina Gerlach who can make you feel like your back in the time the book is written about. This was a great read I would recommend it if you like a great Historical read.
