I don't like how it ended. So. Many. Of. My. Favorite. Characters. Died. I personally like Peeta better after what happened to Prim by Gale, but the ending seemed rushed. Like they ended the war and then it skips to when Peeta and Katniss have two children. I also didn't like how they were going to volunteer Capitol children in their own Hunger Games. I thought the message was that war and fighting was bad.
The ending of the series or just the book?

I don't know, but I'm just going to put the series

I felt like Collins was just trying to get the book published. Like she didn't take time to really finish the story. It was stupid in my opinion. And I liked gale better
I don't remember that part. It's been a while since I read the books
I liked the ending, personally. I mean, Collins's entire point of writing this series is to show the world that we've become absolutely desensitized to violence and horrors. You can't have a series with televised children murders just end with a happy ending.
It can't be like Twilight where the main character gets both her husband and best friend in one place and they're all good with it. Gale loved her, and she didn't love him back. Gale was given a chance to escape his heartbreak and he took it, and I get that.
As for Prim. Yes, it was terrible. Her death was the worst in my opinion. The most innocent girl in this series was killed in the end. But it was her death, that gave Katniss the fire she needed to get rid of Coin.
Katniss's mother is a dead beat after her husband dies. She completely shuts down because the love of her life is dead, and she can't just bounce back from that. I think Prim's death was the final straw. She couldn't stay in District 12 any longer, whether Katniss was there or not. She had to leave. Her and Katniss never really had a strong bond to begin with, so she just left her.
I think the ending was perfect. It showed that in a world of death and cruelty, you don't just get a happy ending.

Well when you put it that way it was really good, I still thought there could have been more detail though.
Yeah, she could have added a little more about how Peeta returned, etc.
And if I remember correctly, the part before the epilogue just ended with katniss killing coin and it was just over. I didn't like that
Yeah, she killed her, and then got dragged away before she could kill herself.
That really made me mad. There wasn't must substance to that part for me
The ending definitely faltered detail-wise. The way she ended it, I liked, but details... no
you guuyyss im supposed to be doing homework!!! but i check for new notifications every two seconds!!! :'(

It is addicting!!! I'm supposed to be doing my homework too, but ya know...
I think we have a serious problem... oh no!!!
We can go to one of those support groups together! "Hi, my name is Nicole di Angelo, and I'm addicted to GR."
That's rough. I'm doing my homework on my computer so I get updates whenever someone comments on something. Bad idea
It's a vicious cycle... join a site that's all about reading... and then never read.
Same here!!
Totally right. At least this isn't Facebook!! I don't even have a Facebook
