20.7- Shorter is Sweeter- Suzanne VN's task: Have Passport, Will Travel

Hi Bea, it looks like the book is primarily based in England, so it would work!

Yay! Thanks.

Thanks.
Denise

Thanks.
Denise"
Gulliver's Travels would be fine.

You're right, not exactly a holiday, but since travel is involved, your book should work!

That is correct!

I think Nantucket is an island, or area, so I'm going to say no. Sorry!

Thanks.

Great!

ETA: Of course, if that's not enough, I suppose I could still use it for option 5, couldn't I... I always seem to ask before thinking. :)

Thank you

Doesn't matter - Dublin is a major international city and the book will definitely work!

Thanks Nikki :) Yes, a tourist attraction that looks pretty unique will certainly work!

Great! Thanks. :)

Brilliant - thank you

Oh yeah, the Captiol works just fine for Option 6!

I've been flip-flopping in all the books I've read so far so I'm glad I have at least one settled!

LOL, I know what you mean about the flip flopping! Every time a new task gets posted, I start rearranging.

Sure both of those would work for Option 6.

I don't want to do that either, Dee.
I pre-planned more than I did last time but for some of those easy tasks (romance genres for instance) I'm just leaving them as open and I'll be plunking them in as I read them.
Also, I'm using mostly books that were on my TBR prior to the challenge starting. I think that so far, I've just taken 3 books out of the library and only because the tasks are so particular that I didn't have any that fit.

Oh wow! I didn't even notice there were monuments on those covers!
I need to move that series up the TBR.

Sure, I can easily tell it's the Eiffel Tower in the background. Enjoy! I loved this one!

Thanks!!! I just finished the book and it was a big disappointment. It was a one star read for me :(

Bummer!

Help! I just posted a completed task on this task which may not meet the criteria. I realize Europe is not a specific country so if I'm in error can I have my post ignored without getting on the wall of shame?

The list of settings on the GR page are NYC and Las Vegas in USA, Sabina Valley, Naples, and Rome in Italy, Vienna in Austria, Warsaw in Poland, Paris in France, and London in England.
The book is about an art thief that travels around the world but I don't know how much is set in the US (my home country).

This is set in 1941 England during WWII. As far as I know they never go to the US.

As Spring approaches, I start itching to get outside and travel. I love to travel, whether it’s a 2 week trip abroad or a local weekend getaway. Why don’t you come along as we virtually travel through this task?!
To fulfill this task, choose ONE of the following options:
1. You’ll need to pack your bag in order to get ready for our trip. Read a book with a suitcase, trunk, or backpack on the cover.
Required: Please include the cover when you post
2. Read a book whose title specifically mentions a major city.
ex. Paris to the Moon, A Stopover in Venice, The Good Thief's Guide to Vegas
3. Travel always involves transportation. Read a book whose cover shows any type of vehicle on it – be it a plane, train, automobile, bicycle, hot air balloon, ship, etc.
Required: Please include the cover when you post
4. And usually, once you arrive at your destination you need somewhere to stay. Read a book that takes place primarily at an inn, hotel, bed & breakfast, cruise ship, cabin or campground.
Required: If it is not clear in the book's description, please identify the setting when you post
5. International travel – read a book that takes place in a country outside your home country.
Required: Please tell us your home country as well as your destination country.
6. Read a book with any national or international landmark or monument on the cover.
Required: Name the landmark when you post
Required: Please identify the option when you post
