so Fitz meets another Witty one, and one with a bear, and it looks like fitz has been broadcasting his life and plans to all the old world :)
i think he should have accepted that teaching offer.

also Jenny remembered well (and it wasn't that much of a spoiler after all, only one chapter ahead). still i'm not sure i fully understand it

one thing first, in one of the previous chapters Fitz saw Burrich making a child's shoes. he's skilling through Molly right? so Burrich is at Molly's making shoes for a kid.
I take it that Molly left Buckkeep pregnant?

ch8 - fitz is at tradeford, and remarking that this is indeed how a king should live. that's quite a shocking revelation.

i'm curious what fitz is going to do now. i don't believe he will manage to kill regal. Will perhaps - and then he has to flee.
i'm also not sure it would be smart to kill Regal. who will get the throne if regal is dead? how will it ever go back to verity after all this?

I thought you got that from bk two. Thats why I said -you could tell from her speech what is going on- the way she worded her goodbye to Fitz- it was obvious. But then I knew you didnt get it when you said you could tell from Burrich's smile he knew he wasn't doing what was best for them.

But I couldn't tell you because technically I think it's been a spoiler so far. No one has come out and said it. I guessed it from her goodbye speech. Then you know for sure when Burrich says "you should have thought of that before you were with her." Fitz wonders how he knew and guesses Molly told him. Fitz , not thinking straight at all when it comes to Molly. Molly would never have told Burrich she slept with Fitz so he knows another way, he's seen her stomach.

Did you notice Burrich quit drinking before he told Fitz he was leaving to help a woman who needed help?

I agree he should have at least learned how to block out people. Just as he did with the skill. That would be important to his safety and then he could always go back for the rest.

And he's using the Wit or old blood more than ever!

Candace (cprimackqcom) Not caught up with you yet Hanne, i'll try to get there today and chime in!

And I can't wait until you guys, David and Alex, are here also!!

And Rob, I'm looking forward to Alif or WMF next month. After that, I'm thinking I'll let you talk me into reading Jim Butcher. You can tell you'll have to twist my arm!

And skilling to everyone that he's alive, so Verity has to risk his life to skill back and tell him to stop skilling and to leave Molly and "them" behind to save their lives.

15th? The usual six weeks?

Candace (cprimackqcom) Maybe you were right, Hanne. I thought Fitz should just stay and learn the essentials from Rolf (owner of Bear). But now Nighteyes has run off to join a pack and this is definitely one of the things Rolf would have taught Fitz the right way to handle. However, Rolf needed months if not years to teach Fitz all he needed to teach him. Where would Verity and the whole six duchies be then?

From the way I understand it, Fit is just skilling out for an image of Molly when he sees Burrich at her house - not looking through her eyes. We are seeing Fitz suddenly able to do all this Skilling he couldn't do before. He is being pulled into Skill-witnessing the battles. He actually fought with Celerity and Faith (while skill walking) which I though was one of the better scenes so far. He tried to use his persuasive skill to let Burrich know he was ok but was unsuccessful, he doesn't think Burrich was open to it. But how does he know if he has persuaded or convinced someone to do something unless he is there to witness it?

ch9 - interesting! so the whole Regal-thing was a stupid thing to try, but it did learn us about how clever Will has become!
I'm glad Verity skilled that order and Fitz is now well on his way to something more useful than the suicide mission.

Yes, Fitz is learning to skill is high speed!
And it's probably about time to. I understood that the ones battling unconsciously call out with their diluted Skill for help? A little bit like Fitz did when he was drowning.

ch10 - sheep! now this is something i had no struggle imagining, so fitz is going to herd a couple of sheep to verity. he sure is going through his disguises quite fast. but i like this one.
hopefully he'll refrain from Witting to much to the sheep so he doesn't have Forged ones coming after him.

When I said I would catch up with Hanne, I meant assuming she was going at normal speed, not super speed. Super Hanne! I planned on spreading all 760 pages of this book over our six weeks so I could do The Drowning Girl this month, which just won the Tiptree Award!! I'm so glad I did.

I thought it also was not smart of Fitz and I thought it was somewhat out of character. He has not been thinking very intelligently about anything in this book so far and I've been disappointed. I do like the parts of this book where Hobb shows Fitz growing more and becoming a man, characterization is usually her strong point. For example , i like it in this ch(10) when he kills the guard and realizes the difference in how he feels when he kills for vengeance and when he kills for the king's justice. It was extremely sad when he had to pass up the restrained animals in the King's Circle calling to him.

Candace (cprimackqcom) Here is a mention of the piebald prince- ch 11

"Had Regal not driven off the Mountain whore, we would eventually have had one like the Piebald Prince in line for the throne."

Fitz overhears this gossip.

Candace (cprimackqcom) For those in the States, I just watched the first episode of "the Vikings" on the History channel. (It's a new television series factually based) It's awesomely done(they showed shots of the whole first season) and watching the Vikings raid made me feel like I was watching the Red Ships raid. It's from the perspective of the Vikings, and they live to fight for their plunder.

Too much suspense! I need my three chapters a day!
And i'm actually also back to reading just one book at the time. so i'm finishing hobb and only then i'll finish erikson - i've realized i enjoy my books more one at the time.

I had no clue what the piebald prince was, or who. but i just looked it up in the dictionary (new word of the day: piebald!) and all of a sudden it's a lot more clear :D

Thank you dear people at Oxford for your dictionaries!
