David Lucero ...We all like to laugh.

It came no surprise to me that humor is one of the top five genre in books. And deservedly so. I've read many reviews about books people loved because they laughed at the scenes they could relate with. Such is the case with 'Who's Minding the Store?'

This book takes place in a high-end home improvement retail store. The manager named Derrick has a week to improve sales or the company will close them down. He has to accomplish this goal with employees who think coming to work on time is optional and don't want to help customers, supervisors who don't answer their phones, assistant managers who will stop at nothing to see him fail, and over-demanding customers who are about to push him over the edge. At the end of the day Derrick can't help wonder...Who says the customer is always right?

This is a story you will relate with because we've all worked retail at some point in life. I'm certain you will be reminded of the fellow employee who made your job difficult because they refused to come to work on time, or the manager you could never count on when you needed help. Then there's the customer who demands the best service at the lowest price. How about the customer wanting to return an item they purchased over a year ago? The scenes I found particularly fun to write about were the behind-the-scenes backstabbing that goes on between my characters. Although this is fictional humor, I know you will relate with the conniving between employees, managers, and customers.

I'm sure when you read 'Who's Minding the Store' you will find yourself smiling chapter after chapter as you enter the wild and wacky world of retail. Doesn't matter if you've worked in the grocery business, clothing stores, home improvement stores, big box retails of all sorts. Retail is retail and this is a story we not only lived, but can look back with fond memories.

This book is available in paperback and kindle.
