20.8 – It’s My Birthday! Laurie's task: March On!

March is said to “come in like a lion and go out like a lamb”. It is not only my birth month, but the month of Easter, the first day of spring and the start of Daylight Savings Time.

For this task, read one book from one of the following options:

1. In honor of the month, read a book where the word “lion” or the word “lamb” in found intact within the title, subtitle or author’s name. ex. Mark of the Lion, Wally Lamb, A Million Little Pieces

2. My birthday is on the 9th – read a book that is the 9th in a series. The book must be identified on GRs as book #9.

3. Easter means different things to different people – read a book whose cover has one of the following objects on it – a cross, rabbit, basket or egg.
Watership Down by Richard Adams Bumped (Bumped, #1) by Megan McCafferty Necropolis London and Its Dead by Catharine Arnold Noughts & Crosses (Noughts & Crosses, #1) by Malorie Blackman Murder in a Basket by Amanda Flower
REQUIRED: Please include the cover in your post.

4. The first day of spring brings thoughts of everything green – my favorite color! Read a book that has the TITLE in green letters. Only the title is required to be green; subtitles, author's name, and other cover text do not.
ex. The Silver Pigs (Marcus Didius Falco, #1) by Lindsey Davis The Janus Stone (Ruth Galloway #2) by Elly Griffiths
REQUIRED: Please include the cover in your post.

5. The way to remember the Daylight Savings Time rule is – “Spring Forward, Fall Back”. Read a book whose title or subtitle includes one of the words – “spring”, ”forward”, ” fall” or “back”- no variations of the words. Series titles are excluded.

Required: Please identify which option you chose in your post.

Laurie (limegreen) | 87 comments For Option 1 - "lion" or "lamb" can be imbedded intact within another word or they can be stand-alone words.

D.G. Yikes, it seems green is really not a popular color for titles! I only found two books on my TBR. :)

Anyhow, this question is about option #1. In this one: Lions And Lace, Lion is intact so I'm assuming it works? If not, I think I can use Cotillion.

You may use either one - lions or Cotillion.

Fandury | 957 comments I plan to use

Fairy Tales from the Brothers Grimm A New English Version by Philip Pullman

for Option 4.

The Green is a little bit dark, but I hope still green enough.

This has children as one of its genres, but should be long enough with over 400 pages for the hardcover version.

Suzanne | 216 comments I found a few green titles in my TBR mountain!

Jennifer W | 466 comments I only found a couple of green titles.

Sheepish Two Women, Fifty Sheep, and Enough Wool to Save the Planet by Catherine Friend definitely works, but I wanted to see if
The Fever Tree by Jennifer McVeigh and Catalina Kiss by Tracy Ewens were green enough.

You may use either book - they both satisfy the requirement.

Mariya, yes, although a very light shade, they are fine. I had to blow up the cover picture to see the color better, as they didn't look green at first.
