Angee Wentz (angee_wentz) Where do you go to write your books, short stories, poems, etc.? I was hoping to get some good ideas about other places to write. I love writing at like 1am-4am. The world is so quiet and for some reason my subconscious opens up a little more helping me to be more creative. lol.

message 2: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 134 comments I write at school. Eventually the teacher has droned on so long I get numb, so I write. I can only write at home if I am angry, and then I write peotry.I used to write on my porch, but not so much. Well wishes for your writing. PEACE!

message 3: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments I write at home, whenever I can find some quiet. Sometimes I'll put on some music, but I generally find it distracting. Most of the time I'll end up writing when it's dark out, just because my bro's are usually in bed by then, and the house is finally silent enough to get something done.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

Usually if I watch a really good movie, I get like really good ideas, so then I usually write in my room, or wherever I can get a piece of paper basically.

I write wherever. I like being outside, but sometimes there's too much of a glare on the screen, and a breeze usually blows notebook pages aroud. As well as my hair, If I haven't tied it up. Writing in school works pretty well for me though... that's when I write in my notebook. If I'm in the zone, i can write at home (but only when I'm alone, because my room is way too messy so I have to be in the living room) on my laptop.

The time of day doesn't really matter to me, but usually I either write early in the morning or late at night – the quietest times of the day, especially in my crowded household. Haha. ^_^

I prefer typing on my laptop to writing by hand, so I almost always do my writing on my laptop.

As for the location, it depends on what mood I'm in. Sometimes I feel too lonely in my room, so I'll write on the couch in the living room, or at the kitchen table. Usually, though, I'll write in my room, on my bed. Whether I listen to music or not also depends on what mood I'm in. If I'm having an easy time writing, I'll listen to music. But if I'm having major writer's block, or I'm writing something really intense, it has to be absolutely silent or I'll freak out. ><

I can't really write when I'm not at home ... It feels weird. Haha. Although one time, I brought my laptop to a library and wrote for a while. That was nice. :)

I usually write in my bed when I should be sleeping :D LOL.

But I wrote a majority of Nano in a car on my way to my great aunt linda's house. so yeah.

I write everywhere, really. Lol. Well, the places I write most are on my laptop on my desk. A lot of times, I take my laptop to my bed and write there lying down. XD As for when- I usually can't write really late, because my parents catch me and get furious. >.< But that's the time I like writing best- my creative juices really seem to flow at 2 AM. lol...Lately, though, I've been getting up an hour earlier in the morning and writing before I go to school. It makes me way more tired and its hard to wake up, but its easier to write in the morning, for some reason...

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

I got my flash drive back!
So like now I can write . . .and I really want to, but I can't find anything to write!!

Wait until tomorrow and do script frenzy! You can just start with the prompt on the site. Earlier today, I think I saw one that says "an angry squirrel is trapped in an elevator with Dr. Phil"

C'mon, wouldn't that be a GREAT opening scene?

message 11: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
squirrel would win

message 12: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 134 comments lol, I love that idea. Only if the squirell got in by acting as a topee (sp?)

I think that it's toupee. :D That WOULD be funny. You should write it! If not in script form, then in the POV of the squirrel!

loollll!!!

message 16: by Amy (new)

Amy (kelairyy) | 137 comments I write when I'm alone, or at least in a big room where there's no one too close to me. It's weird, because then people are always wondering what I'm doing and peering over me. Ack, I can't stand that. I have a notebook I carry around, and today I was writing a name down on a page with a whole bunch of girl names (I also have one for guy names), and my friend who sits next to me was like, "uh... what are you doing???..." XD Me: "Nothing." -slams notebook shut- lol

But mostly I write in the computer room, because I suck at writing by hand. And I write REALLY LATE. I always get the best ideas then for some reason.

Oh yeah, I don't like when I'm writing and people look over my shoulder. I get all embarrassed, haha.

message 18: by Amy (new)

Amy (kelairyy) | 137 comments lol I know!

message 19: by Kenzie (new)

Kenzie | 2838 comments I hate that! It drives me crazy!! I'm SO self-conscious about my writing, so when someone reads it over my shoulder it freaks me out.

message 20: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
same!! i'll like, HIT them and scream "AAHHH!! DON'T LOOK! GO AWAAAAY!!" and they're like O.o "sheeeshhh ..."

message 21: by Amy (new)

Amy (kelairyy) | 137 comments lol whenever my parents come into the room, I click another window... XD I don't know why I don't like people reading my stuff... I think it's easier online. haha

message 22: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 5857 comments Mod
yeah definitely ...

message 23: by Amy (new)

Amy (kelairyy) | 137 comments :)

message 24: by Liz (new)

Liz Oh, I hate it when people want to read my stuff. My sister got into my files once, and I caught her reading them. I went completely aggro. Then she was like, 'It's good' and I calmed down straight away.

...hey, wait a second, that's so sneaky of her!

And I hate people looking over my shoulder, too. Everytime I minimise a window, my parents are like, 'what are you hiding from us? are you doing something you shouldn't be doing?'

it sucks. I think I might tell them that they may just have to deal.

message 25: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (lettingtheinkdry) I know I really Hate it when one of my friends read over my shoulder. I will like scream in their faces and go all crazy. They will all look at me and say "What the Hell is your problem?"
"Stop reading my FREAKING STORY!"

message 26: by Liz (new)

Liz *sighs* We are just so misunderstood...

message 27: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (lettingtheinkdry) Oh I know

message 28: by Liz (new)

Liz lol it gets even worse when I beta. Some of the stories end up being so full of romance that I wonder what the heck I've gotten myself into, and then all of a sudden, I'm trying to fix the mush when someone comes into the room. What the HELL do you do then, I'd like to know?

Sorry, unrelated post.

message 29: by Veronica, What the neck!? (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) | 2889 comments Mod
LoL I don't write romances, because they would be cheesy. And also, really embarassing to share...

message 30: by Veronica, What the neck!? (new)

Veronica (v_a_b) | 2889 comments Mod
Oh, and whenever my teacher is walking around the room when we are doing journals or whatever and she passes by my seat, I cover up what I'm writing with my arm. But not the part that I'm actually writing, just the part that I've already written. I don't just stop in the middle of hwat I'm doing just because my teacher walks by, and I've to to be able to see what I'm writing at that moment in order to continue.

message 31: by Liz (new)

Liz Oh, let me just clarify the term 'beta'. Beta = edit someone else's work. I personally don't write romance! Of course not... heh heh.

Xerxes Break(Vivian Ephona) (ephona) I write just about everywhere. I mostly write at school though when I'm bored.

Roni wrote: "LoL I don't write romances, because they would be cheesy. And also, really embarassing to share..."

Agh...whenever I write romance, it's cheesy and weird. A bunch of my friends are asking to read Hunted, and I'm like "eeh..." because I'm too embarrassed with all the weird Sylfaen stuff going on there...I think I'll change that when I edit it.
