Did you know? : The main characters in this book are just normal kids from the modern world who get the chance to travel back in time to ancient Egypt. I've done the same thing ... sort of. On a visit to Universal Studios in Singapore last year, the ancient Egypt zone felt just like I'd stepped into my book. I even had to be 'rescued' from the Mummy ride after it broke down.

Did you know? : During a trip to Hong Kong, I stumbled across a Gothic stone archway spanning a storm water tunnel. Water rushed out of the archway, and gazing at it, I thought it would make a good opening to a story. What might live up that tunnel? Over a couple of years, that one incident morphed into this book.

Did you know? : On normal earth and railway-bound steam trains, the steam moves the pistons, which move rods that move the wheels. On the Captain’s Train, he has three options. The pistons can move the rods to turn the wheels, or they can move the air corridors to create a down force of air in order for the Train to lift off, or thirdly they can move the quantum entanglement cogs which activate the dematerialisation process. As well as creating steam to enable these important things to happen, the great time and space travelling steam train, makes you a cup of tea.
