REVIEWS BY (NOT)KIDS - HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Great Middle Grade Reads REVIEWS BY (NOT)KIDS is aimed at giving our members a place to pick up some great reads, whilst helping our member authors get their work out there to be noticed by readers. The main requirement is that all books offered by authors in this thread are part of the Middle Grade genre.

My aim is to keep the process as simple as possible (LOL), but in order to keep everything in balance and running smoothly, there needs to be some guiding principles to follow. Please read the details below.

All books on here for review have been donated by our own Goodreads authors. Check the current list of books and formats on offer at the Reviews by (NOT)Kids – Choose a book and/or read its reviews here thread.

(Authors, please contact me direct via Goodreads message if you wish to donate any books.)

I'm hoping this forum will grow to provide a balanced platform for readers and authors, by providing a great resource to help MG readers, along with a link to the generosity of MG authors.


OBTAINING DONATED BOOKS TO REVIEW

1. Choose a book, then click the link shown below the book's details to lodge a request.

2. The author will contact you via Goodreads email to find out your preferred format, and how they can pass the book onto you. They will also reply to your request post so we know it's been actioned.

3. Please think twice before listing your private email address in threads. Just a caution here, but the decision whether you do or don't is up to you.

4. Reviews should be completed within 4 weeks - this is not set in stone, but just offered as a guide. Readers and authors can work out between them what suits them best.

Reviewers, please keep in mind the enormous amount of work by authors to create the book for you. Please follow through with your promised review, or let the author know if you decide not to do so.


SUBMITTING REVIEWS

When your review is ready, it’s very simple.

1. Publish the review on your Goodreads member account - as with any other reviews (and let the author know). Also, if you want to, publish your review on other sites (ie. Amazon, B&N, Smashwords etc.) – it’s up to you.

2. Then, send a copy of the Goodreads review link to me (S.W.) via a Goodreads direct message, and I’ll post the link on the book’s post in the Reviews by (NOT)Kids – Choose a book and/or read its reviews here thread.


CHECKING REVIEWS

1. When you want to check on Reviews by (NOT)Kids that have been posted, just look on the Reviews by (NOT)Kids – Choose a book and/or read its reviews here thread.

2. Just scroll through the listed books and use the jump link to see the review details on Goodreads.


WOW ..... that's a lot of information. I hope you made it to the end, but you've read it now so you won't have to read it again (unless you dozed off).
