I began reading this because the author is one of two brothers who create some of my favorite YouTube videos. It is not what I was expecting, but so far is most enjoyable indeed. It is for teens, but isn't part of a series, and the vampires don't sparkle. (Just kidding. There are no vampires at all. But if there were, they would not sparkle.)
